Sun Power RV is your authorized dealer representative for Go Power! mobile solar power systems. Please don't get bogged down calculating how much solar you will need. With the correct layout you can always add additional solar panels to the RV roof. If roof space is limited or your RV is in partial shade you can add a PORTABLE panel that can be placed in the sun.
If all you need to run are DC appliances such as lights, fans, USB charger for phones, water pump, and the DC electronic ignition for the furnace, stove, water heater, and propane fridge any of the following panels will work. If you are just using DC power (no inverter) and you already have 2 existing batteries that are fairly new, the best plan is to install the solar and wait until your existing batteries won't hold a charge anymore.

Typically, most RVs come with a 3-way refrigerator. That means the fridge operates either on propane gas or AC electric that is supplied from shore power or a generator. The "3-way" refers to the battery power (DC electric) that is used to power the electronic ignition that lights the pilot on the propane refrigerator.
Solar refers to energy that is collected from the sun. The sun and wind are renewable energy sources that do not produce green house gases that contribute to global warming. Once the components needed to collect the sun's energy are assembled, solar energy is a free and non-polluting source of power.

The 160 watt Overlander and included GP-PWM-30 amp digital charge controller is the perfect start for maintaining full batteries. The 480 watt Solar Extreme is the choice for serious full time RVing.
Work trucks, boats, recreational vehicles, long haul trucks and fleet vehicles all have a battery isolator if the alternator is being used to charge both the house and vehicle batteries. The vehicle (chassis) battery is typically an automotive type of battery that provides high cranking amps to start the engine.

The remodel of our Itasca Spirit Motorhome included removing the dinette seating and replacing it with swivel style bar stools. About 20 inches was added to the floor plan by remodelling the dinette. The original gaucho coach appears to be the same size until the new fold out bed is deployed.
