Chilkat Valley Preschool is an Alaska State Certified early childhood education facility dedicated to the fullest development of the whole child. Our early-childhood education philosophy emphasizes students' immersion in play oriented, multi-sensory learning opportunities. We welcome children of all races, creeds and ethnic origins that are 3 - 5 years old.
The preschool learning experience seeks to strengthen children and the ties between their families, community, and other children. At Chilkat Valley Preschool we seek to strengthen children and the ties between family, community, and peers. Through a constructive play-based learning approach we strive to develop a life long, love of learning, as well as, readiness for the next level of education. Our vision at Chilkat Valley Preschool is to have a community where all children feel loved, respected, and encouraged to develop to their fullest potential.
Chilkat Valley Preschool is a private institution that is run, behind the scenes of the classroom, by a Board of Directors. The Board is responsible for fiscal management, hiring staff, and setting policy. CVP's Board meets monthly while school is in session. Enthusiasm is more important than experience; though both are welcome, and anyone can apply (you need not be a parent of an enrolled student).
