Services
At the Center for Behavioral Medicine, we strive to provide our clients with new and innovative approaches to address their mental health care needs. Hence, we are excited to offer a new service, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or TMS, is an exciting and fairly new option for the treatment of patients with symptoms of depression and treatment-resistant depression.
For many people, anxiety occurs under specific stressful situations. For others, anxiety is always with them every minute of the day, causing problems in all areas of their life. Physical symptoms such as chest pains, shortness of breath, and digestive disorders as well as avoidance of activities, poor concentration and distracting thoughts can disrupt a person's normal functioning.
The addiction specialist at the Counseling Center of New Smyrna Beach are here to help those who are faced with challenges and situations in life that can lead to feelings of helplessness, hopelessness or perhaps the desire to escape. Drugs, alcohol, and food dependency develop emotional and social problems.

I have nothing but great things to say about Counseling Center of NSB. I have seen three different providers there for various reasons and each one was incredibly helpful and professional. Shane Porter is the absolute best; so down to Earth and easy to talk to. Edwina at the front desk is so kind and helpful. The text reminders are very convenient and help me stay on top of my appointments. I definitely recommend CCNSB for mental health needs.

I was nervous about going to get counseling, and wasn’t sure what to expect. The lady at the front desk was super sweet and friendly, and I received counseling from Kathy. She made me feel very comfortable and it was very relieving to talk to her, and hear her feedback. I look forward to seeing her again at my follow up appointment, and receiving counseling from her indefinitely. ❤️

I used to go here years ago to see Dr. Kennerly. It was always a pleasant experience. Recently, I set up an appointment with a new person, Dr. Shaw, but before I even got to meet her I had a terrible interaction with one of the receptionists that turned me off. She was very rude and scoffed at me before hanging up. I left a message for the manager to call me back, which she did promptly. She was much more professional and courteous. Despite her professionalism, they still charge a $150 no show fee. I would have only been 15min late and they refused to see me. It doesn't seem like a safe, inviting

I made an appointment here to get some therapy. I had heard great things about this center from several people. When I went in I wasn't sure what to expect. Especially after reading a couple recent negative reviews, but I have to say the staff where warm and friendly.
Just like any Doctors office, I paid my Copay and filled out forms.
My therapist was amazing. Took extra time with me to really understand what I was going through.
Im not sure about the others, that just stopped in and left negative reviews but never saw anyone, but I can tell you they were very helpful.

Jessica Magers, MS and the staff here are so amazing! The front desk is always polite and they are very professional. They are very strict on their payments but that is part of their job so give them a break! I had never been to counseling before and I was very unsure of how it all worked but they were so gentle and kind with me. Jessica has worked wonders transforming my pain to healing. In every aspect and relationship of my life she has been the guidance I need to help myself be who I have always longed to be. I feel better than I ever have and stronger than I have ever known. I owe much gratitude

Went in in person to get a feel for the business. Took in new patient paperwork already filled out. They were very off-putting, basically told us politely to leave and call their number to schedule an appointment. Not friendly, not helpful, not interested. They seem focused on making money, not helping people, or providing quality services. Went elsewhere & was welcomed and helped by very pleasant people. Don't listen to these guys when they tell you the way they do it is the way it's done; if you get a bad vibe, leave!

Professional, competent and compassionate therapists and staff. Hats off to Edwina Erica and Belinda in the office. Your personal and professional attitudes and deliveries are so appreciated. Thank you each and all. Amanda Phillips and Emily Edwards thank you both on behalf of myself and family in helping us work through our issues and personal development. I am particularly grateful to know I have at my access a team of qualified professionals I can count on for mental health and well being any time and especially during personal or pandemic crises. The Telehealth option has been a lifesaver.
