Fairway Lawn Service does lawn aeration, and is an authorized Moisture Manager applicator. That's all we do. In fact, we probably have aerated more lawns in the San Francisco Bay Area than anyone else. Fairway Lawn Service has provided lawn aeration for over 40 years. Fairway started in Los Altos, right down the street from where owner Max Todd went to High School.

Services
Moisture Manager is not a wetting agent, polymer, penetrant, or antitranspirant. No other product has the ability to actually attract free water molecules and then release them through osmosis into the roots of your plants. It is a truly unique compound that has no equal. To obtain the best results, Moisture Managershould be applied by a professional applicator.
There are two kinds of weeds that grow in lawns; weeds that look like grasses, and weeds that look like salad. Here's how to recognize and deal with weeds in your lawn. Poa Annua is an annual grass that starts in fall from seed, grows through the winter, then dies in the summer. It mimics lawn grasses because it looks similar to desirable grasses.
First time I have used this service to aerate and fertilize my lawn, which was done today. You were sure right about Moisture Manager. I adjusted my sprinklers like you told me and had you apply Moisture Manager after the Feb. rains and it really works! I hardly water my lawns at all compared to before and the difference is really clear.
We'll give you free expert advice about your lawns, whether you're a customer or not. You need our expert advice about what to do when your lawn is doing poorly. Depending on what's going on with your lawn, we may tell you that aerating is not appropriate, or we may suggest alternate remedies such as a pesticide, but only if it's necessary to solve your lawn's problem.
Aerating will make what water you do apply go much farther. Instead of running off or only penetrating a few inches, water is better absorbed when the lawns have been aerated. Each year, up to 80% of lawn roots die back, and the grass tries to grow new roots. If your soil is compacted, these new roots can't force their way into compacted soil, and then grow shallow and hair-like, making more thatch and requiring a lot more water.

I've known Max for many years but had never used his service. My lawn was looking ok, but not as nice as my neighbors lawn. I happened to pick up one of his flyers. I found it very informative, so I thought I 'd give it a try. Lo and behold, my lawn has never looked better. My neighbors have actually commented on how great my lawn was looking. Thanks Max

I've been using them to aerate my lawn for many years. I agree with the previous reviewer that it is a very strange business model. I can't imagine how he got this all together. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because the price can vary from year to year. I hope they will see my green lawn from space because right now, before the aeration, they are definitely looking at a black hole.
