Dr. John H. Trotter earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Upon graduation, he was selected to join Omicron Kappa Upsilon (an honorary dental society).
He was then accepted into the 3 year, dual-degree orthodontic program at the University of Southern California where he received both his Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics, and a Masters of Science (M.S.) degree in Craniofacial Biology.Dr. Trotter is very involved in the profession of Dentistry and Orthodontics.

I have been impressed with the attention to detail Dr. Trotter and his office has provided. I appreciate the notes mailed home, and the phone call from Dr. Trotter himself to check on my child after his first day of having braces. I'm happy with the choice we made in choosing Dr. Trotter for my child's orthodontic work.

I am disappointed with the results after over 3 years of braces and retainer. Teeth seemed to be pretty well aligned when the braces came off. I was a little concerned about the one tooth that drove me to get braces at 50 plus years old, but was told a retainer with springs would make the final adjustments. I think the issues I have now stem largely from what was a very poorly made retainer and taking off the braces too early. Dr Trotter eagerness to remove my braces convinced me--unfortunately. My problems today can be largely attributed to a bottom retainer that has pushed a couple teeth

I was referred to Dr. Trotter by my dentist Christina Varwig for a couple of teeth that had shifted. I'm so beyond happy with Dr. Trotter. I decided to go with a retainer to put my teeth back in place at 50 and hilarious to have one again........but I'm thrilled. Dr. Trotter is so kind and I live that they didn't push anything unnecessary on me. I can't recommend him enough.

Given the choice of several Pediatric Orthodontists in the South Bay, my 8 year old daughter chose Dr. Trotter. She felt comfortable with the office, the staff and the demeanor of the doctor. I feel like the office does a good job of turning a process that could be scary and intimidating into one that our child actually looks forward to. We have a long road of treatment ahead, but as a relatively new patient, my child is enjoying being a patient of Dr. Trotter.

I came to Sr Trotter as an adult after having a horrible orthodontics experience as a teen. Dr Trotter laid out all of my options in an easy to understand manner. Throughout my treatment his entire staff has been kind and helpful. I'm so happy with my results! Also, the office is really cute. I highly recommend Dr. Trotter and will be bringing my kid here!

This is an award wining orthodontist practice! Very clean and neatly planned layout. Dr Trotter will give you a game plan and cost of dental work. They make easy payment plans. A fantastic staff! Great text reminders for appointments! Kid-friendly, South Bay style- game room, WiFi, clean and organized! I could be biased because he displays his Matchbox cars like I did my Hot Wheels back in the day!

We love this office, and we love Dr. Trotter! My 10 year old son is the patient...and he is the kind of kid that needs to know what is going to happen...and he gets nervous...very nervous. The staff is great, and is so sweet with him...and Dr. Trotter goes above and beyond the call of duty! He tells him, directly, what's going to happen, speaks to him, in a great calm and soothing voice....he is just so great with him. I'm so thankful for the great care we're experiencing at this office. Dr. Trotter even called later that evening to check on my son to see how he was doing..

My teenage daughter had her braces installed at Dr. Trotter's office. She has had several incidents where she needed her braces adjusted on the weekends and even on one occasion after hours. Dr. Trotter always accommodated her by opening up his office and correcting the problems only teenagers can create. I appreciate his patience and for always going the distance in doing excellent professional work. Thankful and Grateful...

Dr. Trotter's orthodontics office makes it so much fun to have braces that my kids remind me and hound me hoping that it's almost time to go in and get their braces tightened.
Both of my kids have had braces (1 child needed a 2-part procedure) and everything has always been explained well to me, all makes sense and you can tell that Dr. Trotter has a great overall perspective of teeth growth and development in general and pays attention to the patients' individual issues as well.
They're very clear as to each step and were willing to try to stagger my kids a bit to limit

Both my girls have Dr. Trotter as their Orthodontist for the past several years. Recently they both got their braces off and get compliments on their smiles all the time. Dr. Trotter is active and a generous donor of his time in the community. He front desk staff is very friendly. I recommend Dr. Trotter to all my friends.

My daughter has been going to Dr. Trotter for a while and I really liked his office and facility, with model cars and a tropical beach theme. But what I really liked it is the way explains procedures and how his treatments work, and what to expect. My daughter really likes him too.
So when I decided to get my own teeth fixed, I went there too. Again, he explained the process well, and this time I had the experience of treatments. When I asked detailed questions, about how teeth move around he was very patient and explained in detail. He is amazing and makes it all simple, fast and efficient

I took my daughter to see Dr. Trotter and she was very apprehensive about seeing an orthodontist. Dr. Trotter was amazing with her, explaining everything he saw in her mouth, what he would be doing in the future and making her feel at ease. My daughter is now actually excited about her future braces! His office was inviting and the staff was wonderful!
