The MIKA Dragons curriculum consists of developing 8 major motor skills that are necessary for participation in any sport or activity. The curriculum also contains 8 MIKA Dragons personal development skills that are used to reinforce family values. Founded in 1984 by father and son, Richard L Pushard Sr. and Rob Pushard, this family run dojo has been teaching Martial Arts to members of the surrounding communities for over three decades. Pushard's Okinawan Karate started as a small 16 student club.
Now known as M.I.K.A. (Maine Isshinryu Karate Academies) Kyoshi Rob Pushard 7th Dan MIKA Manchester, in conjunction with Glen Fitzmaurice 5th Dan (MIKA Randolph) Clem Bailey 4th Dan (MIKA Great Salt Bay) and Craig Martel Black Belt 2nd Dan (MIKA Florida), Steve Durant 4th Dan (MIKA Auburn), and Jodi Palmer 3rd Dan (MIKA Augusta), MIKA has grown to to one of the most professional Martial Arts Academies in New England.
