Community Yoga
Our teachers are highly trained and value education. We believe in providing safe practices that also challenge and strengthen your body and mind. We believe in teaching the practice of yoga and empowering our students to learn practices they can take off of their mat and into the rest of their lives.

Our teachers are here to serve our community and our students. We build lasting relationships and work with our students to get the most our of their practice and establish a practice that nurtures their individuality. Community Yoga offers an inclusive, welcoming space for the practice of yoga in the greater Lafayette area of Indiana.
Services
We believe in a practice that does not stop at the physical level, but reaches deep to affect your mind and heart. We are grateful for Patanjali, Krishnamacharya, Desikachar and all the teachers who have shared this tradition with us. In this time of uncertainty, we hope to be a solid foundation. In light of the health concerns surrounding us all right now, we are live-streaming our classes!
Yoga is an ancient tradition grounded in the psychological philosophy of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali-yoga is ultimately a practice of the mind. It includes several elements of practice ranging from ethics to meditation. Our doors are open to all people who desire to learn about and practice yoga to enhance health and well-being.
Classic Yoga is a gentle practice that will help students connect with their breath and their center. Class will begin with breath work and steady dynamic movement before moving on to static holds that encourage exploration of the posture's effects. Each class will end with several minutes of relaxation.
Vinyasa is a fun, vibrant, powerful practice designed to release tension and promote strength and vitality. This class flows dynamically between postures to help you find balance mentally, physically, and energetically. We end with a shorter period of relaxation and meditation to balance the mind and the body.
Yoga for Runners is a class designed for anyone (runner, athlete, or not) who wants to improve their flexibility, breathing, core strength, and mental focus. The physical practice of yoga is used to bring awareness to the structural and muscular imbalances caused by repetitive strain on the muscles and joints used in running.

Loved the class. One of the most peaceful and uplifting gifts I have given myself. Can't wait to go back. The class has that unique ability to attract both beginners and seasoned practitioners of Yoga. The instructor provides a variety of poses so the beginner doesn't feel left out.

Now more than ever we need the benefits of yoga. Always happy to take a class at Community Yoga whether it be in person or via Zoom. You can stay socially distanced and still practice yoga with your Community Family.

Katie was welcoming and friendly and the class was wonderful. I haven't practiced yoga in quite awhile, and I felt very comfortable in her class. And the studio was filled with light.

At 73 was a little cautious about going to a Hot Yoga class that was beyond my endurance . . . or balance. Was delighted to 4 or 5 different classes that promote Mindfulness and Being In The Moment.
