Solar Side Up originated from Jeff investigating and installing a 10K ground-mounted solar system in his back yard. At the time it was nearly installed Jeff realized he needed professional help to wire-in his new power plant. After an exhaustive search, Jeff found this small notice on the web about an electrician performing solar work.
Jeff called him up and wouldn't you know it - Geoff the Master Electrician lived two blocks away in the same neighborhood. Geoff came over and wired up Jeff's solar. They have never finished fixing my solar panels! I have been trying to get them out to work on it but they always say they can not get anyone over to my side of town.
And now they want to charge me to come out and finish what they started, and they never return my emails, I have given up on this company, I would never recommend them for any work! Stay away from them! They even had me do a portion of the install because they say Aurora is too far to travel to.
If I could give them "0" stars I would!

Our experience with Solar Side Up was excellent. The hardest part for us was making the decision, and now we wish we would have done so a long time before we did.
Once things got going, everything was very (and I mean VERY) simple. Solar Side Up took care of everything, and our system was up and producing in no time.
We highly recommend Solar Side Up, and suggest anyone considering a solar system call them today. You won't be disappointed.

Working with Solar Side Up to get solar panels installed on our house was a very good experience. They went above and beyond to meet our short deadlines for installation to get the tax incentives. The software package to track the usage on a phone app is excellent and I have instant access to all the data. Been running on this solar panel system for almost two years now and have had zero issues or problems with it. Highly recommend SSU if you are thinking of going solar!

Am very pleased with Solar Side Up and the system they installed. Initially started with too small a system based on limited consumption data and tight money. System worked fine but summer consumption exceeded the system output. Then had them enlarge the system. Now production exceeds annual consumption. Will start using electricity to generate some of the house heating this winter to reduce natural gas consumption. The system they designed and installed has worked well and was expansible. Horrible customer service. I signed up with Solar Side Up (SSU) in March after being assured the system would be turned on for the costly summer months. Despite some weeks-long radio silence after I signed the contract and a few small delays, the system was installed two months later at the end of May. Unfortunately, SSU then botched the handoff to Xcel leading to a further 2.5 month delay with my system offline until early August. This delay resulted in me covering 100% of June and July's electricity bills (~$350) and was in no way my fault. Understanding that this was probably a relatively common

On July 4, 2019, my rooftop solar system was damaged due to a hailstorm. I contacted Solar Side Up for the removal and reset of the solar panels. I was notified that Solar Side Up believed that all 32 solar panels were damaged from the hailstorm. At that time I decided that with the new panels I would upgrade to the IQ-7 Inverters. The solar system was not re-installed until December 2019.
And now for the rest of the story, on April 16, 2021, I discovered that two solar panels were not operating. The IQ-7 Inverter failed in September 2020. I contacted Solar Side Up and the issue was resolved on

System installed, great job to get it done fast, and passed final inspection: October 18, 2020
After installation they really fell flat, just sat on my paperwork for 6 weeks, did nothing to actually move fast to get xcel hooked up.
I followed up a few times, got a few 5 word updates via email, they still won't admit they just forgot to do the simple steps with xcel to get it done.
Recommendation - Just go with Tesla, their customer service is bad but at least you will save 30%. If you are going to get bad service after the sale you might as well go cheapest and go with Tesla.

Solar Side Up took fabulous care of us when we needed our panels removed and reinstalled for a roof replacement. Michael always took my calls or called me back promptly, responded to emails within the day or even the hour... Jeff installed our solar system in 2014, and we have been nothing but thrilled! The installation was timely, tidy and professional. Jeff provided us all of the paperwork for us to get our tax credits and to deal with the electric company and roof inspection (req'd by the County).
