At El Sol, our focus is to serve authentic Mexican dishes built around our experiences with Mexican cuisine. Our cuisine emphasizes freshness, flavor and quality ingredients. When we began planning for the restaurant, it was clear that creating a welcoming and relaxed environment was key to highlighting our authentic Mexican cuisine.
El Sol is a place where patrons can learn about Mexican cuisine and feel welcome to sit back and take in the atmosphere. We also feature a full service patio, a separate bar area, and a private banquet room. El Sol's decor highlights old-world Mexican influences with contemporary touches. Interested in elevated Mexican cuisine but afraid some of your guests may prefer something else? Worry not!

This was the worst Mexican restaurant
I’ve ever ate at. The portion was tiny. I had two spoonfuls of rice (I ordered steak/cheese/rice). They put so much cheese on the plate, it was like soup. The food had zero seasoning. We had 7 people with us and everyone’s meals came out at different times and two people never got their food. The kids didn’t even eat their food because it tasted so bad. It was cold when it arrived. The waitress was great. They did give us a discount.

Horrible food, even worse service. I went to el sol with a group of my friends (there were 5 of us) and it wasn't busy at all. took over an hour to get our DRINKS which im pretty sure are just premade overpriced syrup. took forever for our food to come and when it did.. it was FREEZING COLD. The rice was f*cking disgusting, and the server was a complete b***. never going back again! and neither should you!!!

Brought my family here on a whim and expected good things but had a pretty bad experience. Ordered street tacos for me and my husband and chicken nuggets and a enchilada for the kids. After about 45 mins we got our food. Received cold almost hard, soft shelled tacos, received my kids food 5 minutes after our and my last sons food about 10 minutes after that. Not a good experience tbh, they could do much better with the food and the service.

I have religiously come to el sol, for 3 years now and it has consistently gone down hill.
It took us 1 hour to get our 6 tacos, and one of them came with a hair grilled into the tortilla. Our waitress only came and checked up on us once. Overall disappointing experience for the once beautiful establishment.

So I have heard so many good things about this place. That it's beautiful and the food is delicious.. well it took forever to get our food and not only did it take forever but they brought out half of one meal first and took 10min to bring another meal out. All in total it took like 20min for each of us to get all our food after the first plate was brought out. The food was cold. The rice tasted like water. And the margaritas tasted like syrup more than anything. Togo might be the better option if you're wanting to try here

Visited on Monday excited and ready to eat after a long day. Took like 10 minutes to be seated, not because a lot of people were ahead of us. Which I felt was ridiculous. After sitting we ordered drinks and… received chips and salsa. Our drinks were ready in a timely manner. We ordered our food and waited. After about 30/45 minutes on the way to bathroom my daughter asked server about our orders. Turns out they were never submitted. Because a long road trip was planned for the following morning, and packing still needed doing we just paid for our drinks and went home without dinner.

Visiting from Colorado, and I must say this place exceeded my expectations on every level! Food was amazing, especially their queso fundido! Their Potato Chip Nachos are so delicious, I ordered them as my main entree. The drink specials are the best, with the best margarita and beer prices in town!!! Definitely will be returning! Great staff, thank you for great service!!

A little cut above the rest of the Mexican joints here in Cape! Table side guacamole is the best made fresh in front of you and even has Pomegranate in it. Texture is a little thick and substantial. Mango margaritas rule here. Thick and sweet and pack a punch like Chuck Liddell.
One reason they are so good is the fact that all of the owners have worked in other Mexican places and then partnered up to form this place.
Full bar, outside seating and meeting rooms upstairs.

El Sol restaurant located next to the SEMO University campus is a good place to get your Mexican food fix in Cape G. Big thumbs up for tableside guacamole, a rarity in the Cape G area! I liked the Vaquero special with shrimp, chicken, and steak bathed in cheesy awesomeness!
The service is efficient. I was not sure if they would be able to keep up with the crowds considering the restaurant just opened a couple of months ago, but the staff did well. The ambiance is lively and bustling. The restaurant has been packed these couple of weeks during prime dining hours. Be prepared to park farther and
