The Wine and Spirits Shippers Association (WSSA) negotiates shipping contracts on behalf of importers and distributors in the wine and spirits industry. The Wine and Spirits Shippers Association was founded over thirty years ago by 76 inspired wine and spirits importers and wholesalers, with the sole objective of reducing their importing costs through volume buying. WSSA's exclusive purpose is to benefit our members.
We do this by aggregating members' volumes to gain preferential rates and service-whether it's ocean transportation, warehousing and consolidation, inland transportation at origin or destination, marine cargo insurance, or specific programs like optimizing container loads, less than container load services, conto deposito warehousing at origin, flexitanks and ISO tanks, or providing services to protect against extreme temperatures.

I want to thank you, WSSA, and especially Fay Bazri for the great support afforded Empire Distributors in our efforts to recover against a claim involving a stolen container of Belvedere vodka from Charleston, SC. Fay was steadfast in her support of Empire and worked diligently with our staff until resolution was realized.
WSSA offers members 30+ years of knowledgeable industry experience to create a more efficient import process for any size supply chain. We negotiate low shipping rates with steamship lines in every major trade lane by committing high annual shipment volume through our combined membership. We then pass those savings on to our members.
Who can be a member? A. Membership is open to Importers, Exporters, Distributors, Brokers, Wholesalers, Liquor Control Boards, Overseas Suppliers, Trading Companies and any other entity or their customers that pay(s) ocean freight for the import/export of wine and spirits.
