Services
Akridge Orthodontics was founded in Louisville, KY in 1971 by Dr. Alan Akridge. Since our inception, we have grown from the original location on the Outerloop to adding offices in Middletown and Campbellsville as well. Over the past few years, all three locations have been reconfigured with brand new, state-of-the-art technologies.
An employee since 1987, Terah has worn many different hats, from being a lab tech to an orthodontist assistant. Since 1999, Terah has enjoyed the role of office manager. She loves the friendships she has established with patients over the years and participating in the emotional transformation each patient experiences once their teeth are straight.
During your records appointment, one of our friendly assistants will compile the information we need to start planning for your perfect smile. We'll take some pictures, make molds of your teeth, and take 1 or 2 x-rays. The doctor will go over all of this information and develop a treatment plan. At Akridge Orthodontics, we believe in taking our time in planning so we get your smile perfect!
With the application of new braces come a lot of questions! We've filtered out some of the most common questions we receive from patients and added them below. We'll be happy to help! After a few days, you will be able to resume eating more normally. However, there are certain foods you will need to avoid the whole time you are wearing braces.
Metal braces have been the standard for years. Even today, they are the type of braces most commonly used, but many advancements have made them more comfortable than ever. Metal braces also offer the fun option of adding colored elastics to create your own unique look. Ceramic braces are most often chosen by adults and older teens, because they are less visible than traditional braces.

3 stars because my son really liked staff and office was always clean.
**I wouldn't recommend location due to final results**
-Ton of glue was left on teeth (had to make a regular dentist appointment) for GLUE removal.
-NOT happy with his over bite. Teeth are not lined up correctly.
He's 13 and happy braces are off. Im disappointed but if he's happy, im happy.
Its very important to have consultations with parents as well as fallow ups and results. We didn't get that!
