Services
Road & Rail Services is simply the industry leader for comprehensive logistics solutions for the first mile and the last mile of track. Our highest commitment is to see each member of our team return safely home at the end of every working day.

Our award-winning safety record is the result of continual safety training at all levels, incentive and recognition programs, a Safety Council and monthly safety meetings, automated incident reporting with root cause analysis, hazard identification and awareness, documented corrective action and external audit program and more. The result?
Road & Rail Services was founded in 1987 by Tom and Pete Gerstle. From an initial contract to perform inspections on intermodal trailers, within three years, the company was performing pre-trip and other mechanical work for rail companies and manufacturers, and had grown to 110 employees. From the very beginning, we recognized that our success would depend on recruiting and retaining the right people.
Road & Rail Services is the high value choice for track services for your railroad or industrial track assets. We provide comprehensive services to a range of clients including Class I Railroads, Shortline Railroads, numerous Rail Shipper Industries and even Engineering Firms.

The hallmarks of the Road & Rail Services business approach are especially evident with our track services: strategic investment in the best equipment; an emphasis on recruiting and retaining the top talent in the industry; an unwavering focus on safety first and always; robust purchasing power to keep costs lower; eliminating downtime and providing quality results; and a reputation for reliability in meeting deadlines.
When railcars are out of service, you lose time and money. Road & Rail Services specializes in Field Maintenance Operations (FMO) to safely optimize the mechanical condition and velocity of your rolling stock assets. With field inspections, service and repairs, we keep your railcars compliant, in service and out of the shop.
When you need consistent train services, from industrial switching to unit train handling, or shortline rail operations, you need Road & Rail Services. We combine an unmatched (and award-winning) safety record with proven dependability and timely performance. We don't just adopt industry best practices; in many cases, we create them.

The operation loaders position was okay. The facility was at times good to work for but at other times terrible. Too much favouritism in assigning work loads , no rotating of duties, nonsensical safety rules and the site manager is under pressure to right up employees for minor infractions. Management doesn't provide feedback in a timely manner nor are raises timely and no attendance bonus or incentives to become a career employee. Overall I didn't enjoy my work experience here

This feedback is for that work van you sold thru Insurance Auctions in the summer, the one where you forgot to mention that it has top end engine noise and it's a rust bucket. Obviously you wouldn't be able to scam an out of state buyer without the help of that mutt who's job was to type up condition reports at the auction.
