Services
Providing our customers with real, sustainable solutions has been Mercer Engineering Research Center's (MERC) core goal since the beginning. As a nonprofit provider of engineering and technology services, MERC offers a unique combination of technical and program management expertise, combined with a strong customer support culture.
Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC) is the research and applied engineering arm of Mercer University, a private university founded in 1833. For over 175 years, Mercer has served Georgia as a highly-respected educational institution. In 1984, the School of Engineering was established at the Macon, Georgia campus, with the charter class beginning studies in 1985.
Andi Mitchell currently serves as the Executive Director of the Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC). She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and an MBA, both from Mercer University.

She serves on the Executive Committee of the 21st Century Partnership; the Executive Committee of the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce serving as Vice Chairman of Government and Military Affairs, and also serves as Chairman of the Middle Georgia Military Affairs Committee (MGMAC).She is a 2000 graduate of Leadership Warner Robins.
Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC) is located in a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility. Our multi-skilled teams multiply their effectiveness through the use of a modern 113,000 sq. Included are two data visualization labs where working groups of up to 20 people can simultaneously view, compare, analyze, brainstorm, and discuss up to 40 complex data displays.
Serving the defense and national security sector is at the core of MERC's mission. We provide efficient and knowledgeable service to these customers, as many engineers on our team served in the military or civil service before joining MERC. This real-world experience is paired with new ideas to improve defense systems through a number of engineering services.
