An oral exam, commonly referred to as a dental checkup, is the process used by dentists to carefully review your oral health. Dental X-rays are a critical part of the diagnostic process for oral health. Teeth cleaning is part of oral hygiene and involves the removal of dental plaque from teeth to help prevent cavities, gingivitis, and periodontal disease.
Scaling and Root Planing is a deep cleaning below the gumline used to treat periodontal disease. Dental sealant is a thin, plastic coating painted on the chewing surfaces of teeth - usually the back teeth (the premolars and molars) - to prevent tooth decay. A composite filling is a tooth-colored plastic and glass mixture used to restore decayed teeth.
