Angelo Simone is a founding partner of Simone & McCahey LLP. Prior to co-founding his firm, Angelo worked over 11 years as an associate for a well-known and respected law firm in the community, handling a wide range of cases and clients, with a focus on litigation and trial work. Angelo has worked on many cases involving serious or catastrophic injuries and death, including the well-known Station Fire litigation.
Shelagh Rose (McCahey) Simone is a founding partner of Simone & McCahey LLP. Prior to co-founding her firm, Shelagh worked several years for a well-known Rhode Island lawyer and lobbyist. Shelagh handled a broad spectrum of legal matters for many notable clients. She has tried cases in virtually all of Rhode Island's courts, and in Massachusetts.
Workers' compensation is a system that was created by the Rhode Island General Assembly to deal exclusively with injured workers, and to give injured workers the help they need - and more importantly, help which they might not otherwise be entitled to under the law. If an employee is hurt at work, they may be entitled to collect workers' compensation benefits.
In Rhode Island, if you do not have a workers' comp lawyer and the insurance company offers you a settlement, the court will appoint a lawyer for you to review the proposed settlement and advise you and the court as to whether it is fair and in your best interests. Our firm has been appointed in many such cases.

I was injured at work and immediately called Shelagh. Right away she was able to put me at ease. She explained the process and always kept me updated throughout the whole case. I went through a lot while Shelagh was working on my case and she was always there to support me and would check to see how I was doing. I don’t even know where to start. Shelagh is the most welcoming lawyer, she treats you like family! She kept me informed throughout this whole process. She is easily reachable via the phone & email. She made all the questions (and some of them were stupid lol) seem very valid & I was not a bother. She always kept me in the loop of my case & made sure that I was comfortable with every decision that was made. My settlement was more than I expected which was awesome!
