Environmental Analytical Service (EAS) has been providing environmental air testing services since 1985. We offer a comprehensive array of analytical services that cover the needs of Indoor Air Quality and Environmental Air Quality Specialitsts.
EAS was founded by Dr. Steven Hoyt and specializes in the measurement of low level organic compounds in air including volatile organic compounds, mold volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, pesticides, and odor causing compounds such as reduced sulfur compounds.EAS is accredited by the National Environmental Laboratory Accredidation Program for air testing services.

Services
EAS is an Air Testing Laboratory that specializes in the analysis of air and gas samples for organic compounds and inorganic gases. Our testing services are based on analytical methods that have been developed for air testing, or methods that have been modified for air testing. The analytical methods used by Environmental Analytical Service, Inc. (EAS) follow established agency methods for testing air, gas, source, or product samples.
The following table of the different types of air pollutants that can be found in homes and the source of those pollutants. There are tests for all of these compounds but it is not necessary to do all of the testing in your home unless there is a reason to suspect that you might have a problem. VOC's are chemicals that are present in your home, they can come from cleaning products, perfumes, cosmetics, paints, glues, stored gasoline or solvents.
Environmental Analytical Service has been providing analytical services for indoor air quality for almost 30 years. Our focus is using the EPA Indoor Air Quality Methods known as the IP methods. These methods were developed by EPA for the purpose of getting lower detection limits then were available with the NIOSH or OSHA workplace methods which generally involved solvent extraction of tubes or badges.
California has adopted legislation to promote the construction of Green Homes and Commercial Buildings in California. As part of the CalGreen program a group of air pollutants has been identified and voluntary maximum concentrations have been established. These values can serve as a target for all homes that want to be considered Green Homes.
The Total Volatile Organic Compound (TVOC) level is a measurement of the sum of all of the volatile organic compounds (VOC's) found in an air sample.
The TVOC is an important indication of the overall air quality in a building because there has been so much information on the TVOC levels collected over the years, and using this data scientists have been able to put together the table shown below that provide a good indication of the overall indoor air quality.
