Vanguard Skin Specialists is Southern Colorado's premier dermatology and plastic surgery practice. Founded in 2009 with the belief that it's possible to deliver uncompromised medical care in an environment that is warm and welcoming, we are dedicated to creating exceptional patient experiences and excellent outcomes.
Our surgeons and our surgical services are unparalleled in the region. We have an in-house dermatopathology lab to provide quick results, diagnosing and treating melanoma within 24 hours. We are the only practice in Southern Colorado with Mohs surgery and plastic surgery on site. And we provide the highest cure rate with the best cosmetic result, all in one day in the same office.

NEW PATIENTS BEWARE - Be prepared to pay extra for services that should be included. For example, if the doctor writes a prescription for you it's an additional $90 charge. Yes, just to write the prescription. They actually bury this charge in the NEW PATIENT OFFICE VISIT FEE. And when I called Vanguard Skin Specialists to discuss this matter, they offered me a financing plan. As a new patient I wish I would have known this beforehand. With a family of four, I personally choose not to shell out 4 separate prescription fees if/when I need a prescription. Spend your money somewhere else where you

This is a patient focused practice with warm staff while at the same time very professional and thorough. Above all they are focused on your health. Procedures take a minimum amount of time with little to no pain. There is little wait time to be seen or treated. I highly recommend them for dermatological needs.

Victoria at The Clara counter is amazing 👏 Great energy and lots of useful advice and recommendations. I've been getting pictures of my skin every 3 months for a year now, and I'm so impressed with the results! My first time to a dermatologist. P.A. Landon did a thorough all over skin check and picked up a couple of things I hadn't noticed. Quick Biopsy by Olivia and a freeze treatment from Landon. It was pain free.
Both Landon and Olivia did a great job of making sure I was comfortable, and explained everything they were doing.

There are many options available for Dermotology and skin care but how do you know if you can trust them? Typically from a reference or sadly trial and error. Due to reckless sun damage over my lifetime in the pursuit of the deep desire to be TAN at all costs I’ve sadly had A LOT of experience with various skin professionals and I write this review because at Vanguard every single person that I’ve met and have had work done with is not just good.. they are Outstanding! I’ve been to several of Vanguards different offices and it’s always the same level of care, kindness and professionalism
