Scientific evidence proving that chiropractic care works is overwhelming. Over the past 20 years, many controlled and independent research studies have shown again and again that chiropractic care is safe and effective for treating low back pain, neck pain, headaches and other conditions relating to the spine.
Although each of our doctor' s processes vary slightly, you can expect to complete a full medical history questionnaire and "new patient" paperwork. You will then consult with the doctor. This consultation is your opportunity to discuss your health concerns and past health history with the doctor. A physical exam will be performed which may include orthopedic testing, reflex assessments, muscle testing, and a specific chiropractic evaluation.
The motions of daily life, if done incorrectly, can result in injury to the spine. The following tips can help you steer clear of that kind of pain and inconvenience and keep you feeling your best. Sit with your feet flat on the floor or on a low footstool so that your knees are slightly higher than your hips.
Dr. Ashley Goodman attended Life University for her Doctorate in Chiropractic and then went on to pursue a board certification in the Atlas Orthogonal technique from the Sweat Institute in Atlanta, GA.

The Atlas Orthogonal specialization is obtained after numerous additional hours of study of the cervical spine and the use of an advanced scientific instrument program to make precise and delicate adjustments to the atlas vertebra in the cervical spine.Dr. Ashley Goodman with Dr. Roy Sweat, developer of the Atlas Orthogonal chiropractic technique and program.
Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that your body is a self-regulating, self-healing organism controlled by the brain, spinal cord and nerves of the body. The nervous system is protected by the spinal vertebrae. When these vertebrae become misaligned or lose normal motion, malfunction of the tissues and organs throughout the body result.

Having experienced severe pain for several days in my lower left back, I reached out to Dr. Goodman's office and was worked into her schedule the same day! She diagnosed the problem as a dislocated rib - and promptly made the adjustments to get the rib - and my complete spine back in alignment. It's been about 3 hours - and about 90% of my pain is gone. She said it would take a couple of days to get back to normal. I learned a couple of important lessons: 1) Don't ignore problems like this thinking they will do away - they don't! 2) Schedule monthly sessions to keep your spine and other joints in alignment. I'm going to take my own advice - as this will minimize the chances of future issues like this.
