Reflecting all that is charming about the South, expect gracious hospitality, luxury lodging, excellent cuisine, historic tours of the house, and a lovingly restored garden.

With an ambiance reminiscent of a bygone age, the rooms and suites are as perfect as a picture for your stay in Natchez. All guest rooms and suites have private baths, and some include a spa tub and a fireplace.
Services
Experience another time and another place in Monmouth Historic Inn & Garden's elegantly appointed rooms and suites. Every room and suite has its own unique charm and view of the rolling, manicured grounds. Whatever your wish, we can accommodate - from a honeymoon suite with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries to a relaxing night's sleep in General John Quitman's own bed.
Built in 1982, these cottages have large front porches with rocking chairs overlooking the beautiful gardens. The garden cottages consist of 2 cottages next to each other, each cottage having two guest rooms with private baths and porches across the front. These rooms are decorated with fine antiques and reproduction furnishings and features luxurious amenities.
This lovely single-story cottage was constructed from 1993-1994. There is a porch across the back with rocking chairs, where one can spend time relaxing while looking out over the pond, where the Monmouth ducks waddle and paddle; the romantic bridge, where couple after couple has become engaged; and our majestic sanctuary, styled as a Greco-Roman Palladian Temple.
Overnight stays include a plated and served full Southern Breakfast from 7am to 10am. This area was constructed over the original location of Monmouth's Stables and has a lovely covered patio for those wishing to dine al fresco. Two eggs cooked to your liking, grits, biscuit & your choice of bacon daily, ham on Monday, Wednesday & Friday, sausage on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday.
At Restaurant 1818 you will dine in what was originally the Men's and Ladies' Parlors of the Main House. These two parlors are adorned with authentic period crystal gasoliers. These impressive reproduction chandeliers and wall sconces were custom made for Monmouth by the artisans at Waterford Crystal in Ireland.

We had a great girls getaway. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The staff is friendly and so helpful. The breakfast is delicious. The one downside is the beds. One mattress was lumpy and hard. So uncomfortable. The other in our suite was a Temper Pedic that got hot as you laid there. Other than that, I would definitely go back.

Hotel and grounds were very beautiful. Service at breakfast was excellent. But that is where it stopped. Service in Library for cocktails was slow at best and free snacks were non existent. I pre-ordered desserts for my party to be served at their dinner in the 1818 restaurant that I was unable to join them for and I was charged for it, but they never received them. When I called back, I was told the front desk person was not available to handle credit and they took my info only to never receive a return call. At the prices they charge, especially on Balloon Festival weekend you would think their

The grounds are gorgeous and the bar was exceptional. My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner. After having a drink and walking the grounds we came in the restaurant for our reservation, we were seated, then nothing! No one lit our candle, no menus, no water, not a word!!! We were completely IGNORED!!! A waiter served 2 other couples 5 times! IT WAS THE WORST SERVICE I EVER EXPERIENCED!

Anniversary getaway perfection!
Celebrating 19 years of marriage could not have been sweeter, more charming, or more romantic. The grounds alone are breathtaking and so well kept. The main house, which is where we stayed, is elegant and well appointed. Restaurant 1818 deservingly boasts elegant candlelight dining and superb menu options. We felt like we were stepping back in time, to a simpler and more peaceful time. We will return to Monmouth, hope to make it an anniversary tradition.

Weekend getaway with my mom. It was everything we hoped for. Beautiful home and gardens , room was convenient , clean with a wonderful bed. The 1818 restaurant was so good we ate there twice. A very cozy and relaxing atmosphere. BUT, the highlight of this property are the staff. They are warm , friendly ,attentive and obliging. We got to know several by name and they were all wonderful. We plan to go back with friends and highly recommend.

We had such a great relaxing weekend getaway at Monmouth. The staff are very helpful and informative when making reservations and during your stay. We will be looking forward to our next stay when the flowers… in the gardens are in bloom. Highly recommend the Gardenia cottage. The location is great since it’s so close to everything in Natchez. ❤️

Stayed there several times. The service is beyond exceptional. They always remember your name. Accommodations are welcoming and comfortable. You will not be disappointed. The cabins on the side with the porch over looking the pond are the best.
