I loved learning how to make magnificent and loving meals by watching her create. My Grandmother taught me flexibility and creativity in the kitchen comes from within. She also showed me that an amazing healthy meal can be brought to the table in a moment's notice. I've been cooking 15 years for a myriad of different groups and situations in Kona, Hawaii, and the surrounding Hawaiian Islands.
Your wedding is about YOU! We at Mon Ami Catering realize that a lot of time and energy goes into making your wedding memorable and special. Mon Ami will work with you both to ensure your menu speaks to the union you are embarking on. Your wedding reflects your unified style, taste, personality and mostly your love for each other!
Chef Mona will work with you to create a menu that is tailored specifically to your liking. A popular service choice, this option helps keep personnel costs in line and is a good opportunity to offer a variety of menu choices to appeal to all tastes and preferences. There are couple options for seated meals: family style, or plated.
For many years I've been honored to have Mona as chef for my Hawaiian Huna Dolphin Adventure Retreats on the Big Island. Mona does something magical to food. You get to step into a sensual world where every bite delights the palate with aliveness. Our senses are enhanced by the pleasure of watching salads spring to life with color and inhaling fragrances of fresh organic herbs.

Mona is incredible to work with. She is so kind, considerate, and caring. She really cares about making sure all the details meet your needs. She's responsive and is willing to work with you closely to get the right menu set. I really enjoyed working with her and wish all vendors were as kind as she is!
Unfortunately, we had some major venue issues (they canceled on us!) and with the new venue we were not allowed to bring in outside caterers so we never got to see Mona's final product. However, I know it would have been amazing. During that entire stressful process, Mona helped us out

First, I have to say that Mona is a terrible photographer. The pictures she took on Instagram were really under-representative for the great quality of food she has. We had Mona and Mon Ami for our 40 guests wedding catering in Kona this past May. All our guests loved the freshness and deliciousness she and her team delivered. The meat were cooked on spot in our wedding venue, which is amazing. The desserts too. I still miss the passion fruit tart and mango sorbet they made, absolutely fantastic!

We had our family reunion/gathering catered in Hawi at our vacation rental. Mona and her team were amazing and served a delicious fresh meal from an assortment of appetizers, amazing entrees, and dessert. We didn't know what the vacation rental would have or be stocked with and they brought everything we needed and were flexible with the cooking arrangements. The food was not only fresh and delicious but so beautiful to look at!

We had an AMAZING experience with Mona on our wedding day. If you are looking for a cater with fresh food, great service, and incredible attention to detail, she is the one! Everyone at the reception said it was the one of the best meals they have ever had (and this was after a week of being on the Big Island, experiencing amazing food). To top it off, her staff was a delight to be around. We all know that event staff can sometimes be dry, too much to handle, or even crabby. I hired Mona at Mon Ami Catering for my wedding at Kona Beach Bungalows (October 23, 2016) and family and friends RAVED about the food afterwards. It really was AMAZING. I had a DIY wedding and Mona was so kind and patient with me. She helped me create a custom menu and was on point with everything she recommended. We did a buffet style and at one point, Mona made a plate for my husband and I because people were going back for seconds and thirds! That's a great sign that the food was a hit! ;) She is a true professional with a heart of gold.

I had Mona cater my wedding in April - finally getting round to reviewing. I live in Canada, and went with Mona based on my wedding planner's recommendation and am so glad I did! We did passed pupus and a buffet with a picnic theme. Mona made recommendations for the menu, and was super helpful, polite and and communicative with my back and forth changes via email. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! Her staff did a great job too with the setup and cleanup afterwards. My family plans to go back to Hawaii in a couple of years time and we are already talking about getting

Mona is the best and a must go to for catering any event. I consider myself a snobby water and host groups that always have a variety of different food preferences. Mona's food always pleases every person in the group, is incredibly healthy and DELICIOUS. We always order the Mediterranean style spread and we've had guests say she makes better hummus than any they tried in Greece! No matter what Mona whips up, you're in good hands!

We're so thrilled Mon Ami Catering was able to accommodate our wedding on 12/13/14!!! Mona was so easy to work with while planning our wedding. We didn't sample any of the food on our menu prior to the wedding but we weren't worried because we heard nothing but wonderful things from other vendors and friends. & she didn't disappoint! The presentation of the food was so beautiful but more importantly sooooo delicious!!! Family and friends are still raving about how amazing it was! Some favorites were the poke, tiger prawns and the beef tenderloin. We wanted a variety of food
