In Pennsylvania, patients can go to physical therapy for one month without a prescription from a MD / DO / PC / CRNP / PA-C / DPM if a physical therapist has a "Direct Access" license. However, certain insurances such as Medicare, will not pay for physical therapy without a valid prescription.
