Norse Home is a non-profit, heritage retirement and assisted living community, located on Seattle's historic Phinney Ridge. Our residents wake up to daily views of Seattle and the Olympic Mountains. Additionally, the internationally recognized Woodland Park Zoo is just across the street. Our mindful staff go above and beyond to create an environment of attentive and compassionate care.
Our lively and varied activities schedule makes learning, physical activity, and creative expression fun. Our 14 passenger van makes regular community outings easy! As we enter our seventh decade of service, Norse Home is proud of our rich history and great reputation. When I walked through the front doors, I knew that I was home.

Services
Over the past decade, there's been a boom in retirement communities and senior living facilities. But caring for Seattle-area seniors is nothing new to us-we've being doing just that for over half a century. Notice we used the word "caring." While we believe updated, comfortable and safe facilities are a must, even more important is the care and dignity each of our residents experience every day.
Whether it is your first time at Norse Home or you've been with us for years, our mindful and attentive front desk will make you feel like family. Questions? You can reach out to our friendly staff by calling the Front Desk at (206)781-7400. Our eager and responsive building services staff is here to assist with any issues that may arise.
Norse Home offers six floors of spacious living, beautiful views, and friendly faces. Feel like being social? Residents gather in each floor's generous common area to plan the day's activities, discuss current events, or just to relax, enjoy a cookie, and take in the panoramic view of Ballard. At Norse Home, we are surrounded by great views--the spectacular Olympic Mountains, Ballard, the Puget Sound, the Woodland Park Zoo and the Space Needle.
With over half a century of caring, Norse Home has developed a wide range of services and amenities that make us one of Seattle's premier senior housing communities. Unlike many other places, Norse Home is a nonprofit and that is reflected in the warmth and quality of services. My mother has resided there in an assisted living apartment that is quiet, clean and safe. The food is wonderful, the staff loving and professional. Their apartments also have incredible views. I am grateful for their service to the greater good. Really...

Norse home is a perfect place for those with no family and limited options ..but if you have another option ....RUN. much of the staff is nice but the management is ineffectual and self serving. im in assisted living due to a debilitating stroke and in addition to having no knowledge or experience with my type of disability they dont seem to care. they have call buttons, and its included in the bill, but often they dont respond to them....when i complain they suggest i call on the phone.my disability makes that difficult....but thats their reponse....services for assisted living are minimal..sometimes

My father lives at the Norse home and he regularly tells me, "you couldn't have brought me to a more beautiful place." He also asks me, "how can I ever repay you?" I told him, "dad, as long as you are happy, that is payment enough." The atmosphere is friendly, the staff always go above and beyond to meet the residents needs. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to experience a warm environment with caring staff. Although the building is large it amazing how cozy feeling it is on each floor. The Norse Home is well run from the Administrator on down to the helpful, friendly staff!

While I am old enough to stay in a retirement community, I choose to have my own home. Having just sold my home and not having purchased a new home, I was in a dilemma about finding an interim residence that was safe and in an area where I eventually wanted to reside. Kathy spent a lot of time helping me decide if the Norse Home was the place for me and helping me complete all the details of my living arrangement. I will be moving in about a week and feel certain that I will be happy there until I find my home.
