I guess you could say the roots of Winter Painting Service began back in the 1950s when my grandfather started painting for his father-in-law. Soon, he had started Winter Custom Painting Service and began adding truck after truck; crew after crew. He established the business in San Jose, creating one of the largest painting companies in the state.
Life brought him to California's Central Valley and he did it all over again. My father and uncles grew up painting and my siblings and I had a paint brush in our hands as soon as we could walk. After my grandfather retired in the '90s, my father took over, and though my dad has yet to fully retire, my brother and I took over the bulk of the business about a decade ago.

Basic interior painting involves primer plus a coat or two (if recoloring) of latex paint on walls and ceilings. Different rooms require different finishes (the amount of shine you see). Brushes and rollers are typically used on walls, while ceilings are usually sprayed. Exterior finishes require more weather-resistant paint and typically involve wall and trim painting.

This starts with our removing the wallcovering with the least amount of damage to your wall. Vinyl wallpaper is the easiest to remove, and pre-pasted or paperback are the hardest. Once removed, we will repair any drywall damage and treat the walls with special conditioners and primers to prep the walls for new wallpaper, or for paint.
There are multiple ways to make your space unique including some custom accents, finishes and techniques. These take more work than basic painting and therefore are an added cost. They are perfect for an accent wall or a small space. Below are some popular ones that we specialize in. Popularized in Italy in the 1500s, this look is created by applying multiple layers of plaster to create a 3-dimensional look and then finished with a lustrous look.
