We have the diversity of equipment you need to efficiently handle the scrap generated on your jobsite!
Services
Founded in 2003, SMRUSA is the largest buyer and processor of industrial scrap metals in the Southeast. SMRUSA is open to the public but we specialize in the implementation of industrial recycling programs. We tailor recycling programs to our industrial clients in order to make the scrap production and handling process as efficient as possible and maximize the value of their scrap.
Southern Metals Recycling has served the southeastern region for nearly two decades. We've built the relationships, the network and the reputation to continue that service well into the future. We understand the challenges, the geography and the industries we serve. Because of this, we can provide a unique set of profitable solutions to your scrap metal obstacles.
You're in the business of either putting up new construction or tearing down old structures. Either way, you're generating a variety of debris, among other things rebar, ductwork, metal studs, pipe, wiring and metal roofing. This debris has real value and can offset some of the costs of running your business.
Whether you're trying to dispose of an old appliance, a blown car engine, a set of rims, a bundle of wire or a truckload of aluminum cans, Southern Metals Recycling not only has you covered, we'll get you paid! Why let that valuable scrap metal site around your property taking up space and looking unsightly?
You oversee the operation of one of the largest paper mills, shipyards, sugar refineries or electrical plants in the southeastern US. You are constantly making upgrades, overhauls and expansions in response to greater demand, new regulations or technological advancements. This means that you are inevitably going to generate metal scrap as old infrastructure is replaced with new.

Its a great place to see some really cool machinery, get rid of some unwanted metals, and of course get a few dollars in the process.

Do not show up at 4:25, the clock at the gate will say 4:30 and they will not let you in. I had a large trailer with several tons of scrap steel on it and had to take it back home. I won't be using this place again. They were very rude about the whole thing.
To clarify after the owners rebuttal, I called before arrival and was told I would be allowed to enter as long as I showed up before 4:30. If the owners do not want customers arriving that close to closing then that needs to be posted and the employees need to express this when someone calls to inquire.

I've used every other yard around and a friend told me about SMR so I gave it a try....I've never been treated so nicely by every employee at any company. The people are so nice and helpful as oppose to other yards where they just want to hurry and get you in and out. Thank you to all of you at SMR for making my to do feel valued

I started taking scrap to southern metals recycling at a fair market scrap rate. I stopped paying attention what scrap rate they were issuing because I thought they would treat me fair.... big mistake. They were giving me half the value of scrap when i would take it to their scrap yard. When I told about the discrepancy, they set up a meeting. They came in with no solutions and told me they were not going to do anything for me. I would not deal with this scrap yard, there are plenty in town.
