A clown made a flower for my daughter at a birthday party we attended. On our way home it came undone, and she asked me to fix it. I took a look at it and was perplexed as to how to make the repair to the poor flower (much to Sabrina's disappointment). Encouraged by her to make balloons at her next party, I checked out a "how to" book from the local library.
With a lot of practice I was able to make swords and what looked like dogs. I found it challenging and rewarding when I saw how much the kids (and parents, too) loved it. I was soon offering my services at family gatherings in order to gain some experience. Then, one day, I was asked if I did private parties and if I would create my balloon art at a child's birthday party.
