Hiram Lock & Key and Stephen's Locksmith Service are owned and operated by myself, Stephen Hartdegen. I have been in the service business for better than 30 years. Early on, I worked in and managed retail auto parts stores where I learned the importance of customer satisfaction. Directly previous to becoming a Locksmith, I worked in the computer industry as a computer consultant.
With the help of friends and family, I was able to turn the consulting business into an entity of my own. This is where I learned the business skills necessary to become self-employed, which led to the creation of Stephen's Locksmith Service. Shortly after entering the Locksmith trade, my Hiram Lock & Key identity was created to solidify a local identity.

Stephen Hartdegen, came to our rescue in a big way!!! What could make moving day more stressful than losing ALL the keys you have to your new house?!!! Stephen was amazing, said he'd be to us in the hour, he was there in less than 30minutes! Stephen suggested rekeying all the doors, 8 exterior total!!! & even installed the electronic key lock we had purchased for us to install at a later date to keep us from having to always have a key . My parents are thrilled with the professionalism & only having one key for all the doors! Thank you Stephen!!!!
