Augusta Sash and Door Company began in January of 1955 as a partnership between W. B. Badger, G. W. Taylor and A. D. Kilham. The business was located on Ada Ramp Walden Drive, Augusta, Georgia. The general nature of the business was the manufacture, assembly, processing and sale of windows, doors, moldings, cabinets, millwork and other products pertaining to the construction industry.
In 1962 plans for an expansion were formulated. The company purchased property on Wilkinson Road, Augusta, Georgia for a new facility. Construction of a truss and wall panel assembly plant, door shop, office, and warehouse followed. Entry into the truss and component home industry began. The company enjoyed years of continued growth under the leadership of Mr. Taylor and Bill Warlick (who joined Augusta Sash in 1961 from Howard Lumber Company).

All craftsmanship is completed in house to consistently produce the finest custom millwork products in the CSRA. In addition, we also create architectural millwork, such as mantels, crown, chair rail, finials, corbels, paneling, doors, columns, and fine furniture to name a few.
Columns, Trim and Mouldings are a big part of what Augusta Sash and Door can do to make homes more beautiful. A lot of the trim and moulding is stored in-house. Columns and other material come from our respected providers. There are many mouldings that are in older homes which can be either no longer made or they may have changed slightly over the years.

Home Depot wanted to charge me over 1000 dollars for a whole new door unit, which included a 100 dollar fee to measure the door. I said no thanks and got a refund. Went to Howard Lumber and they gave me a sheet which showed me how to measure, and to write the measurements on. In other words, they don't charge you to measure your door, they show you how and allow you to do it yourself, saving you money in the end. They then ordered me a door to replace my old one. The door fit perfectly, and I spent around 200 dollars for a brand new door. I saved 800 dollars and couldn't be happier. Augusta Sash
