So who is Paul O'Brien, you ask? Paul O'Brien Winery is the culmination of twenty years of friendship between two winemakers who share a passion for fine wine, great food and a gracious life. Dyson Paul DeMara and Scott O'Brien Kelley met while working at Robert Mondavi Winery in the Napa Valley. Since then they have travelled the world's wine regions learning the old world winemaking traditions and sharing new world techniques.
In 2013 the duo came together to start the Umpqua Valley's first urban winery in the historic Hansen Chevrolet building in downtown Roseburg, Or. Our wine club gives you exclusive access to free shipping, great events and free wine tasting.

Services
Our Wine Club is a great way to enjoy a selection of our unique wines shipped right to your door. The best part (besides the wine of course), Shipping is Free! We have several options to best suit your needs. We offer three (3), six (6) and twelve (12) bottle clubs, where you will receive a selection of our wines four (4) times a year.
Here at Paul O'Brien Winery we only source our grapes from dry farmed, hillside vineyards throughout the Umpqua Valley. This approach allows us to ensure that we are selecting vineyard sites that are perfectly matched to a particular variety. We have partnered with eight different growers who are dedicated to growing the finest winegrapes for the Paul O'Brien wines.

Driving from Seattle to Napa we stopped for the night in Roseburg Oregon. Before headed to our B&B we stopped at a winery right off the 5. I was blown away! We typically will find 1-2 wines at a winery when we taste that are ok to amazing. Everything we tasted at Paul O'Brian ticked those boxes (except for the Chardonnay- but I'm just overall not a fan).
Beautiful tasting room and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
Well worth the stop!

Classic wines by passionate winemakers!
The 2016 Umpqua Valley Pinot Noir I'm currently drinking (good luck finding a bottle) is a classic! This baby has been sitting in my cellar for two years and today is a special occasion (I wanted to sip a good wine). The classic notes of black cherry open to perfection. Behaved acidity and truly silky tannins make this a wine you want to keep savoring.
95 points and I'm being stingy).
If only Dyson and Scott would put actual tasting notes on the back label rather than the tripe some marketing consultant talked them into. Fortunately that does

We had such a great experience at Paul O'Brien! Audrea was patient and kind, and explained so much to us about their wines, food pairings, and even let us know about other local wineries and vineyards. Her recommendations for a local Greek restarting were spot on as well! I haven’t been wine tasting since before covid restrictions started, but was pleasantly surprised at how good the experience was. We’ll definitely be returning. Of course, the wines were fantastic also!

When we walked into the establishment, we were greated with, "you can step over to this side of the tasting bar", no welcome or any other greating. When hostess stepped over to our side of bar she told us to step back six feet. We did so and she then asked if we were tasting, I just wanted a taste of the rose and knew I wanted to purchase an Oregon Territory Tempranillo. My companions just wanted a taste of a red. She was not friendly and not what I would call a good representation of Paul O'Brian. Will not go back.

Great wine, rude woman running the tasting room (Sunday, 11/17/19). Sorry that the sound of my kids giggling was "bad for customers". Just popped in on our way through to do a tasting and pick up a bottle for dinner but left empty handed after that interaction. Thankfully there's plenty of other fabulous wineries in this beautiful state that are a lot more family friendly.

The gentrification of Roseburg, I fear, is coming, yet I hope not. The Umpqua Valley has attracted some fine grapes and lovely vineyards, and Paul O'Brien sources from 8 of them.
Paul O'Brian tasting room and winery is located one street over from the heart of old town Roseburg, a quaint, small one-street wonder that has already surprised us twice with good, trendy restaurants. So we keep coming back. On one such visit, we saw this large, renovated red brick building with a bold winery sign. Curiosity got the better of Mr. B, and then next thing I knew, we were schmoozing with Linda

We had such a great time - Lee was such a phenomenal host. She had just came down from Seattle (where we are from) so she gave us a lot more information regarding the different wines we sampled, using our local references as guide posts. Great rosè and really good tempernillo and Malbec. We’ll be back for sure!

The downtown location is in a perfect spot. Our hostess was knowledgeable, down to earth, and relaxed. Not stuffy or pretentious which is a definite plus in my opinion.
They have an excellent selection of wines to choose from. Whether you're a fan of the sweet dessert wines or the driest red, they have an option for you. I'll be back!

I loved this winery!
On the way from Bend to the Oregon coast, at the end of highway 138, is the town of Roseburg. We Yelped and found this highly rated winery and decided to stop for a wine tasting break. If you drive too fast, you could easily pass Paul O'Brien's. It is located in an industrial looking site. Before the owners converted it to a winery, the site was a car dealership.
Walk inside and you will find their production room. Walk through the wooden doors and you will find a very nicely decorated wine tasting room. It is airy, contemporary

This winery is located in the downtown area of Roseburg in a converted car dealership. There is an incredible parking lot located in front.
When you walk in you pass by the holding tanks and fermation process. Then you enter the tasting room which is very tastefully decorated. Across the grand room is overstuffed furniture for conversation and socializing. They also offer winery t-shirts and other items.
The wine is maturing and is pretty good, should be even better in a couple years. We did like the sangiovese and grenache and purchased one of each.
Personally I'm not a huge white

We stopped on our way back from Medford. We had made some sandwiches before we left and needed a place to eat them. The YS said here's a parking lot and pulled off and directly across the street was Paul O'Brien Winery.
Well, I couldn't stand the idea of not stopping in and checking this place out.
Set up in an old car dealership (that makes it sound bad but it is not) this winery has been around for a short time less than a year. The owner's are from California and had worked together previously. In fact Paul O'Brien is a combination of their names.

Yesterday afternoon, Rose and I dropped by the grand opening of Paul O'Brien Winery's tasting room. This is the area's first "urban winery" in that it is located in downtown Roseburg, on Pine Street in the old Hansen Chevrolet dealership building. Unlike an estate winery, they do not grow their own grapes; instead, they purchase grapes from several local vineyards, and the winery operations are in this downtown location.
