I went to this place with two of my Maharashtran friends and they confirmed the authenticity of the food. My favorite part of the meal was the fried Bombli, which was absolutely delicious if you are ready to bear the fishy smell. Portion of the goat platter is not much for the price, but the curry was really good. Do not forget to try their desserts!

Ki was craving for this food since so long. Finally I feel so good after trying it. I think we tried almost everything from the menu. Service was pretty quick.
We tried bombil fry (Bombay duck fry) it was really fresh and good.
Misal Pac was average.
Kombdi Vada was good.
Surmai platter and Promfret platter were really good. One good thing about the platter meals they serve here is you’ll get the fish/meat you order plus chapati (roti), rice , rassa (fish curry), sol kadhi (kokum kadhi) and gulab jamun as dessert. It’s a complete meal even though it would expensive it’s worth trying.

Mejwaani has been our to-go place for Maharashtrian food.

But it was a disappointment this time around, we order vada pav (where the vada was too small), daabeli was not like always taste wise and misal pav was also missing the taste.

Had been here for lunch. We had no reservation but the owners were kind enough to let us have a table. We ordered a variety of dishes to be shared amongst us. Sabudana vada, batata vada, kothimbir wadi, aluwadi, surmai fry as appetizers, special mutton platter, kombadi wade, crab masala, chicken kolhapuri as entrees. As far as the appetizers were concerned, aluwadi was very good, surmai fry tasted great, sabu wada and batata vada were seriously low on salt and kothimbir wadi didn't taste like the authentic one, it was slightly hard.
In chicken wade, the wade were good while the chicken was slightly

Had the sabudhana vada (fried tapioca balls, a nice novelty), and the surmai platter. The latter comes with surmai fry (fried fish, 2 chapatis, surmai curry, solkadi (a salty coconut milk drink), and gulab jamun for dessert. All were ok but none made me want to order again. Also at $20 the platter is quite overpriced I think. Also tried the kharvas dessert which is a baby buffalo milk pudding which was good and worth trying once. Maybe I'm just not that into Maharashtrian food. Also they have an oversized TV which blasts Indian music videos constantly which is really annoying and disruptive to

Best place for Indian Style Crabs and SolKadhi.
The place is welcoming and nice, staff is very nice. The rice pita is also nice. I was craving for Indian crabs from a long time, authentic taste. No doubt the best place. Little far from Newport but they provide order for $80 and above. Best if we want to host a party😋. Definitely visiting more.

Beat mahar-ashtrian food in the state. The mutton fish and chicken thali is awesome. The quantity in the thali is a bit less compared to ordered individual.

I was so excited to know that there was a restaurant serving Malwani cuisine in NJ so I went the last time I visited NJ. However, I was kind of disappointed with the flavors of the things that we tried. We tried kothimbir wadi, Kombdi wade, malwani chicken curry, and fried surmai with fish curry among the 3 of us. All of this food was a staple weekend food for me when I was back in India but the restaurant food did not meet my expectations. I will definitely return to try some of the other dishes that I have heard are good and hopefully it will be a better experience.

I thought of eating fish curry and searched in google near me option got to know about this shop. So wanted to eat here. Ordered fish platter and chicken platter, mango lassi. They offered free home made potato fries till we wait to get food. Excellent home made delicious food especially their fresh shallow fry not deep fry. Price little bit high but worth to pay. And waiting for food also little late, but compromise after eat because of the fresh fish fry. Overall I can recommend this restaurant. Restaurant people are very kind and good 👍🏿 Keep up your good work.

One of the super rare authentic Maharashtrian food places across the United States. What’s more important is, you will NOT be disappointed by the food here. We only tried the typically Maharashtrian food and everything tasted authentic and reminded us of flavors back home. Of the things we tasted, I personally recommend bombil fry, bangda fry, pomfret fry, misal pav, mutton vade, mutton sukka and thalipeeth! I will definitely go back!!!

The food is DELICIOUS and definitely authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. Unfortunately, it was the service and cleanliness that sadly ruined our experience and brought this down to two stars.
Pros:
-Authentic, delicious food
-Pretty large menu to choose from
Cons:
-Food will come out whenever it’s ready, so the timing was off in terms of everyone getting their meal at the same time to enjoy together. Basically you have no idea when your other party member’s food will come so you should just eat yours when it arrives hot
-Portions are kind of small
-Not environmentally friendly. All of the

Mejwani was our go-to place for weekend lunch pre-pandemic. We have tried almost everything on their menu. Our favorites are Maharashtrain fish and chicken preparations served with bhakaris (flatbreads). Our families visiting from India also enjoyed their food.

The owners are friends now. They help us with allergy friendly food for our son. They also pamper him by offering some of his favorite deserts on-the-house every now and then.

I also ordered some post-pregnancy dink-laddoos for my sister, who enjoyed them a lot. The quality and taste was very good.

We came here for dinner, but we had a disappointing experience here. Our thali didn't contain 2 items and we had to remind them that those come with the thali, then they ended up bringing it back. Later they didn't even get our puranpoli, even after we reminded them twice about it. We ended up just leaving early without getting our dessert , giving up on getting the dessert at all.
Also the food we ended up getting in general was decent, but nothing spectacular. I've had better maharashtrian food here

Best maharshtrian food in united states I have ever had. We drove here around 9.25 pm to pick our order and Nesh uncle was so nice that he invited us inside and asked if we would like to EAT sitting here. I think it was the best service we have ever received. Food was authentic, fresh, and served hot. We had Kharvas, puranpoli, Veg thali, pav bhaji,& Solkadi. Each pf the dish was delicious. Wish they had more branches. If you are in NJ please do visit here.

Very few people have mentioned that the food is average and a hair close to marathi cuisine. I expected it to be packed with flavors and spices (I took away one star for this reason) But, you can still enjoy the food.
Do not get pani puri, sev puri or any other chat(thinking it is maharashtrian restaurant), it is disgusting and tastes horrible than any average restaurant. I got charged for extra pani which tasted like matcha tea.
The restaurant is extremely expensive for the quality of food they put out, this should be $ not $$. If you are dining in, you will be served in use-n-throw plastic

I feel like every time I order from here it just keeps getting better!!! I am vegetarian and I love Indian food. I like to order a few different snacks and a chaat. Everything is just so fresh and tasty. I love to try new things and I also have my go to items. The samosas are amazing. The chutney tastes so fresh. I cannot stop raving about this place. Order the food then tell everyone you know. Also delivery is usually super fast so the food is hot just like it should be!

Got there Tiffin Delivery worth $80 + paid additional for a fish dish
1. Surmai fish curry had ONE Thin slice of fish, it was disappointing
2. spending $80 of what I received wasn't worth at all, most of the gravies were the same kind.
I am seeing lot of positive reviews in yelp but wasn't the case for me.

Amazing! Amazing!! Amazing!!!

I come from the region of India (Mumbai) that this restaurant's menu focuses on and I will vouch that it is authentic and so so yummy! In fact, the owner hails from the exact location in Mumbai that I was born in :)

We had the surmai curry, fried halwa, and mutton vada. Everything was to die for. I was amazed that they were able to get fresh Indian fish varieties - apparently from New York. And they had kharwas for dessert! I asked the owner where they got the special milk that you need for this and he said Philly. It's clearly a labor of love. That was

My friends were raving about this place and just wouldn't stop talking about this telling me to give it a try and how this place served the best Indian (Maharashtrian & Konkan) food. I must confess, after trying some of their offerings, I've also joined that club now. YOU MUST GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY!

Let me point out by saying that they serve one of the most authentic Indian styled fried fish. Their bombil fry is second to none. All of their fried fish have those authentic Indian flavor that is very hard to find in any Indian restaurant. We had ordered quite a few items to give this

This is the only restaurant serving authentic Maharashtrian food near NY/NJ area.. We wanted to try dishes we cannot make at home or is more effort to make and this place delivered. Kothimbir wadi is divine.. I never skip ordering it from this place. Highly recommend it. Also, the Jowar Bhakar was perfectly made - reminded me of the bhakari my mom makes..
my friend devoured Surmai curry - medium spicy and typical Maharashtrian coconut curry cooked to perfection.
Definitely will come back.

Do remember to make reservation before heading directly as there is limited seating area.

Made a trip out of the way so we could get some Marathi food. Now before I comment on the food, let me say, SEATING IS LIMITED, and customer service is almost non-existent. You will wait at least 45 minutes before even receiving a beverage.
They definitely care about turnover on the tables and will want you to leave, they're passive aggressive about it for sure. (But they also could've been super busy with the holiday, tomorrow).
The inside lacks decor, comfort, and the fire alarm chirps constantly.
BUT, with that being said - you should definitely eat the food here (but take it to
