Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.
The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience. Dr. Erick Hallie has been practicing in Grand Rapids since 2004. He grew up in Roseau, Minnesota. His education included three years at the University of MN, Duluth for undergraduate studies and four years at the University of MN, Minneapolis in the Dental program.

To ensure your convenience, below is the information you need about our hours, location, insurance acceptance and billing. 75 minutes is reserved for adults coming to our office for the first time for a visual exam, periodontal exam, cleaning and necessary x-rays.

I recommend the NLD team to anyone. Every experience I’ve had with them has been positive; from the front desk to the dentists. You expect professionalism, but you also get friendly, caring, gentle interactions from someone who makes you feel like part of a family. That is so hard to find these days!

I called to schedule an appointment for myself and my daughter as new patients. I was told that they are accepting new patients but that they are not accepting my insurance at this time, which is IM Care. I guess if you have a nice job that provides you with good dental insurance then they will take you because they get paid more. would that be considered discrimination? I also told them I have Uni - Care dental plan which is basically like paying cash and I was told they don't accept that either. I have called every dentist in the Grand Rapids area and have been told the exact same thing. What

I have been with Northern Lake Dental over 30 years. When Doc Sherman was there I learned he was less scary than the tooth fairy. Now one of his daughters practices Dental there so I have the quality care from her and her partners for a decent smile many more years I hope. Thanks for the cleaning yesterday and Thanks Dr. Cargill. Such a friendly staff indicates many things, above all it indicates a happy work enviroment.

Northern Lakes Dental is amazing. Even though during this pandemic time I don't get a hug from Dr. Cargill, I can feel her warmth and caring from a distance. I just had a tooth pulled yesterday, and she was so professional and helpful. She explained my options, told me what to expect, and was a true hero. Her assistant was great as well. Kudos!!

This is the best dental clinic! Dr. Cargill has amazing "bed side mannor" She is always happy to see her patients and is very genuine. The staff is always amazing. They take the time needed to explain anything you may have questions about and are very sincere! You won't be disappointed if you go there!

I'm glad my friend referred me here after my own dentist retired. My last visit was superb Dash the assistant, Arielle, was knowledgeable and patient but very very fun to visit with as well. Dr. Ihle listen closely to my concerns about which services I wanted done in which order and was willing to adjust the schedule of my care plan. Front desk staff have been superb, both on the phone and in person. I've gotten great, clear information about my plan, My out-of-pocket expense, and what to expect at each visit. An excellent experience all around.
