MCOPT is pleased to announce that the public health order that closed all non-emergent medical clinics and health care facilities has been lifted. We are ready to go and will fully functional and open for business starting on 5-4-20. We want to assure you that our entire clinic has been professionally deep cleaned and sanitized.
We will also continue to practice enhanced sanitary procedures going forward with our patient visits. We have established policies regarding patient screening, safe social distancing and provide private treatment rooms to limit any possible patient exposure. We appreciate your patience during this necessary public health closure and look forward to seeing you soon.

Services
We are an independent, therapist owned outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinic, founded by Brian and Cheryl Gesik in 1999. We built our current 4,000 square foot location and state of the art facility in 2005 in the Thurston area of Springfield. Our therapists all have their own private treatment rooms to insure privacy and confidentiality during your treatment sessions.
Our philosophy of care is based on finding and treating the root cause of your dysfunction, rather than chasing your pain with temporary remedies. When we treat the source of your pain and restore normal neuromuscular mechanics of the spine and extremities, your body will continue to heal for weeks and months to come after your treatment is completed.
The state of Oregon grants direct access to clients for physical therapy. This means that a prescription is not necessary for you to be seen in the clinic. However, please note that your insurance company may require a physician's prescription to cover your visit. Please check with your insurance company to find out your coverage requirements.

I came here by referral from my doctor for a muscle tear in my mid back. After a short exam, I was told i had a dropped right shoulder and that my left leg was short, causing the pelvis to shift and that was why my back wasn’t healing. I was given a heel lift to counteract this. After a few days I had leg and hip spasms on that side. I was told it was normal adjustment to the lift. I progressively got worse over the next few weeks on that side and was told “sometimes you get worse before you get better.” That didn’t sit well with me, so I went to another PT who actually measured and said

I'm a bodyworker and came here recently to rehab a mild knee issue. And this is where I'll be sending my people first for injury rehab support and muscle imbalance issues I can't fix from now on.
They seem to use the usual exercises and stretches, as well as manual therapies that are both effective and more appropriate for a wider base of people (i.e. many folks don't respond well to fast, deep manual therapies like graston/scar tissue scraping). They explain things well, layer homework such that they're unlikely overwhelm with people with too many exercises/stretches, tape well, have good bedside

I cannot say enough positive things about the care and people at McKenzie Crossing. Cheryl and Gwyn are extremely knowledgeable and skilled providers. They don't just treat the symptom and throw random exercises at you. They treat the cause of the issue with a technique called Strain/Counterstrain, it's pretty amazing (and very gentle). I am so very grateful for my care and recommend them to anyone who is in pain.

I am very happy with the service I received at McKenzie Crossing Physical Therapy. Bryan was so helpful. I really appreciated how he explained everything going on with my injury and what he was doing and why in a way that I could clearly understand. Everyone in clinic was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place.
