Check out our first RCT Community Newsletter! Read all about how we are rolling into 2021. Rural Community Transportation (RCT), the NEK's local fare-free transportation provider, is excited to announce the design of a new website, www. RideRCT.org. The upgraded website has redesigned maps, better access to schedules, news, program information, career opportunities and more.
Services
Our mission is to provide public transportation services for everyone that is safe, reliable, accessible, and affordable to enhance the economic, social, and environmental health of the communities we serve. It is the vision of RCT to establish a solid foundation for the regional development of a safe efficient public transportation system.
RCT is the thread that weaves our community together. RCT brings patients to the hospital, clients to mental health appointments, and students to school. RCT is transportation and collaboration and a vehicle to health and better life, all rolled into one. We have a number of important community partners such as hospitals, human services, community action, recovery centers and more, all working together to improve lives.
At RCT, we have a special program that helps Vermonters every day. The RCT Volunteer Driver program brings people of all ages and all walks of life anywhere they need to go. Would you like to be a part of an important cause, help your neighbors, and be reimbursed for your expenses? If so, the Volunteer Driver program is for you.
RCT is not just a bus company or a transportation organization. We are leaders in the transportation industry, in one of the most rural communities in the nation. We help people get to work, to school, to health care, and to see their loved ones. RCT is about supporting families, friends, neighbors, and communities.
RCT offers bus routes all over the Northeast Kingdom and Lamoille Counties. Bus service is an important piece of what we offer at RCT. Riding the bus is also great for the environment, reducing the consumption of fossil fuels. For example, a passenger car carrying one person emits 89 pounds of CO2 per 100 passenger miles, while a full bus only emits 14 pounds.

I think RCT deserves 5 stars. As a caregiver, daily transportation can be a drain. I drop my guy off and then in a few hours I'd have to pick him up. RCT drivers are consistent enough for my needs and it saves me a lot of mental energy, and gas obviously. I lived in a more rural area where this was not available, when we moved here and started getting this service it was really a huge weight off my shoulders. Thanks so much to the drivers that help out every day.

I'm sure RCT is very busy, it's very hard to schedule an appointment and know your going to make it on time, when you can't depend on RCT to either pick you up on time or at all. Yet, if the driver has to wait for you for any length of time, they will just leave. Us disabled people depend on RCT. Very disappointing
