Services
The Countryside Veterinary Clinic provides a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. Both of our facilities include a pharmacy, in-hospital surgery room, in-house x-ray capabilities, indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas.
Jim has been employed by Countryside Veterinary for the past 34 years. He is a native of Lowville who graduated with a Associates Degree from Jefferson Community College and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from SUNY Potsdam. Jim oversees the day to day operation of all our practices and oversaw the expansion to Carthage in 1990, Otter Lake in 2008, Boonville in 2013 and the total remodel of the Boonville location in 2019.

There have been so many advances in veterinary medicine that many diseases which may have greatly shortened your pet's lifespan in the past can now be managed (if detected early) so that your pet can live a longer, happier life.

Aside from the best service possible, the prices are so reasonable at Otter Lake/Countryside Vet. I couldn’t be happier with the level of care and personal touch when with doctors and techs here. Always so pleasant and helpful, fast and efficient, and especially personable doctors/staff. Dr. Allen is my fav but I love everyone at OLVC! SO blessed to see how much they all love animals and love what they do. Best clinic ever!!

Over the recent holiday weekend our pup developed an itchy paw, which turned into an infected paw. The Otter Lake staff squeezed us into the schedule, despite it being the day after a holiday and not being routine patients! They got us in and out quickly and the services were reasonably priced. The best part is that the pup is feeling 100x better and is even getting better at navigating in his new cone.

Completely blown away by these peeps today. Got to our family cabin less than a mile away this am with a sick dog. Called expecting to be pushed aside on a holiday weekend but these folks found time to squeeze us in. They literally were finishing their lunch on a chaotic day when we arrived. I've had dogs my whole life and have never seen such compassion, love and K9 expertise. The tech and vet were the best I've ever come across. They found the root of Bacca's illness and sent us away with the meds and directions we needed. Cost was extremely reasonable as well considering it was last minute and
