Along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, we recommend that a child's first dental visit be scheduled by his/her 1st birthday. We want your child to enjoy getting to know our doctors and staff and be comfortable at all times. A pleasant, comfortable first visit builds trust and helps put the child at ease during future dental visits.
Teething rings work well and teething biscuits can be used but watch that your baby does not bite off a piece that he/she can choke on. While your baby is teething, it is important to monitor the teeth for signs of baby bottle decay. Examine the teeth, especially on the inside or the tongue side of the top front teeth every two weeks for brown spotting.
Black triangles or 'open gingival embrasures' are little gaps between two teeth. Because every individual's teeth and gum shape varies, it is actually common to see black triangles before, during, or after an orthodontic alignment of teeth. Black triangles are caused by either the triangular shape of the teeth or the health, shape, and size of the gums.

Every staff member at InStyle is kind, courteous, and helpful. I am a little insecure about my teeth and despite any issues I have with them, the hygienists, dentists, and periodontist here are all very kind and reassuring. My two children see the pediatric dentist as well, and she is also very sweet and informative. From the front desk to the back office, my experience was unexpectedly, absolutely fantastic. Alex is very attentive and assisted me with filling out the form and any mandatory details they needed. She warm transferred me to Evelia who was very comforting, honest, and informative and very accommodating, which made me feel at ease because this was my first dentist visit since I was 8 years old. Dr.Kar was just as informative and straight to the point and I really appreciated his expert opinion. Can’t wait to come back here!

We’re so glad we went to see Dr. Chrissy! She swiftly and skillfully extracted two bottom teeth in order to make room for the permanent teeth behind them to grow in properly. If we had waited any longer the adult teeth could have been further adversely impacted, which would have made the extraction more complicated. Michael was also wonderful in easing any discomfort with his funny and calming demeanor. We’re thankful for them both!

I had an appointment yesterday to replace a filling. Any apprehensions of sitting in a dental chair quickly ended when Michael, the dental assistant, greeted me. He helped me feel relaxed with his personal style of humor. Michael and Dr. Kar work well together, sort of synchronized like a machine. Dr. Kar is very gentle which helped me immensely. No one likes going to the dentist but the staff at InStyle Dental ensures a comfortable, even relaxed, environment. My teeth look and feel better than they have in years. My dental hygienist spends more time with me than my own doctor, following up on my health and updates since my last visit. This has been my dentist office for a number of years now, and I highly recommend it for the level of care and professionalism from all their staff. I just finished a periodontal procedure from Dr. Joseph Marcos, and my experience and the work done was amazing. Throughout the years, I’ve found Dr. Kar to be very knowledgeable, helpful, and skilled at providing great dental care. And, Krishna Patel had been an outstanding and friendly hygienist. Carolina and the front desk personnel are awesome as well. A+ from me. Great to have such an excellent Dental Office so close to my home.

Our 8 year old son needed a filling and today was his appointment to get the work done. He was extremely nervous and worried about it last night and this morning. Mike greeted our son warmly and listened with care to his anxieties. He then offered to demonstrate the entire procedure on this finger before the work was done on his tooth to help calm his nerves. He constantly reassured him and answered any questions. What started as a traumatic morning quickly melted into a learning experience where our son felt comfortable and proud of himself. Let me first state that I am in the group that only writes a business review when I've either had a terrible experience or an exemplary one. In this instance, InStyle Dental absolutely came through for my family. Living through unprecedented times with the Covid-19 pandemic, our 5 year old daughter was experiencing extreme tooth pain this past week. She was scheduled to have several cavity fillings this month with her current pediatric dentist but their practice was closed and they were not seeing any patients during this time. My kids have been going to InStyle Dental for the past 3-4 years. I just started going and love the entire staff. My kids favorites are Michael and Dr Park, they are really helpful and patient with my children. Michael goes out of his way to ensure that my kids are comfortable at the dental office. Krishna is my all-time favorite dental hygienists. She's thorough, kind, and takes the time to explain and really talk to you about your dental health and how to keep it healthy.

First off I would like to address insurance issues that people may have experienced thus leaving a bad review for this office. I work at a physical therapy clinic that is not in network with any insurance so I fully understand the frustration of a patient. However, patients don't understand that we as medical providers do not have EXACT numbers of reimbursements because insurance company decide how much they will pay after we bill them. Also, this explanation can vary depending on insurance. In all, medical offices have limited info of reimbursement.

Came in for a cleaning and my hygienist, Yolanda was very nurturing. I'm about 34 weeks pregnant and she made sure I was comfortable by adjusting my chair accordingly. She did a very thorough cleaning and gave me flossing tips as well. The doctor came in as she was done and said everything looked great. He was super nice and caring as well. Will def keep coming back

So today my toddler has his first dental appointment. We chose to come to this office because our friends recommended it. Read the reviews and all good. Even with all the positive things about this place. We were expecting my kid to be screaming bloody murder. But to our surprise the dentist we had kept him calm and she was able to complete the visit without any tears, punches or kicks from my kid. Will definitely go back.

You think you have insurance covered for a regular cleaning? Think twice. At the visit no mentioning any cost except for optional "x-ray $60" at the reception.They will "validate" your insurance and perform regular cleaning, and bill you months afterward for $308.
This is not even Beverly Hills price, this is scam. I have dental insurance and was billed for $308 for REGULAR CLEANING.
What kind of dentist charge this much? What kind of business practice is this?

I first found InStyle Dental when I was looking for a dentist for my baby daughter. Dr. Liu (who is no longer there) was the perfect dentist to build the foundation of a positive dental experience for not one, but two of my younger children. I just had my first visit with Dr. Kar and am very pleased with the experience.
The office and staff are very professional and efficient but are able to maintain a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
I was very pleased with Dr. Kar's skills and delivery. He was very concerned about my comfort level and made the procedure 100% pain free!
I don't believe the process could have gone better. I am happy to recommend Dr. Kar whole heartedly.

Beware! Make sure you check your insurance for coverage. They will not do this for you! Don't let them scam you!
This review is not on Dr. Liu, but it's more about how the practice runs their business. Maybe it's my fault that I didn't do my due diligence by checking if my insurance covers first. But usually, the dental office will check for you. I thought my PPO would cover in most places but I guess not here. It didn't cover everything. It baffles me how much it cost

InStyle Dental IS the place to go. If you don't like to go to the dentist then you haven't been to InStyle. That was me before. Dr. Kar is an expert at what he does. He is informative and sensitive when performing his procedures. He ensures his patients are comfortable throughout the process.
