Raul attended night school for Auto Repair at UTI Trade School in Oxnard CA where he tended night school while working a full time job. Upon graduation he went to work for Tune-up Masters in Oxnard, Ca. While working for them he continued night classes in Tune-Master School in Panorama City.
Working toward his education on auto repair, he obtained his ASE Certifications, to include Electric and Electronics, L1 Advanced Engine Performance and has been licensed as a Smog and Repair technician since 1989.He continues his education by attending college to keep up with new auto technologies.

I have always had a positive experience at Raul's Smog. My whole family has been taking their cars there for years. We pull up without an appointment and they take our cars in within 10 minutes and I am on my way in about 20 minutes. I would never go anywhere else. We are always treated in such a friendly way. I cannot understand why anyone would have a negative review of Raul's Smog. I wish all their customers would give a review so that people considering getting their smog done at Raul's Smog would see that most customers rate Raul's Smog highly..:)

Rosa, just wanted to say thank you for responding. I probably misheard and got the details wrong from my mechanic because I'm not a car person and don't understand all the lingo, but I do fully trust my mechanic, Concours Motors in Ventura. After it failed a smog test at Raul's they spent a full day looking at my car and running tests on it and couldn't find any smog issues or white smoke. I then took it to the smog center across the street, Thompson Smog Test Center, and it passed no problem. It was also not cheap to have my car evaluated after it failed at Raul's and

This is probably the worst smog station I've ever been to, do yourself a favor and avoid this place I was there getting my vehicle smog and a guy came in with the motorhome and some guy out of no we're started yelling to do that vehicle 1995- older it is $150 if it fails you still pay $150... And you have to pay another $150 to get it Tested Again he Said "SMH" I too have a motorhome an 1988 and I cannot believe the price to do a motorhome so I checked around in the area and Ventura they run anywhere from 60 to $70 not including the certificate which is around $25 what a rip

I took in my '94 Camry and when it failed the first time Raul checked out the facts and figures and determined what the issue was and let the car run longer and tested it again--no charge. He worked so hard to make sure my car passed. He was so incredibly kind and wonderful. I will definitely go back. It was a very very good experience.

I came in around 11am on a Thursday to do a smog check. I was in and out in 20 minutes with a passing car. The guy at the desk was very friendly. Look for a coupon in the Santa Paula Times too.
The only discomfort is that the waiting area inside is very small, but it was bearable as the service was fast. I had no issues with the DMV recognizing this test facility.

Excellent service along with honest family-owned atmosphere. They were recommended to me and I would recommend them to anyone and especially to those that have RVs. They've done me right and got me my certs and i've had some difficult cases- 2 motorhomes and a pick up truck, all from the 80s to be exact. A very good, trustworthy family-owned business. 5 stars

Stay away from this place and go to a smog only center.
I gave this place a try since I was passing through this town.....Big mistake.
I went by for a smog check, my car blew clean numbers, but failed due to modified exhaust. My exhaust failed because it was a dual exhaust and did not have a "Y" junction before separating at the ends. Makes sense since its part of California law. So I ask the guy how much to fix it? The cost was $760 just to add the Y-section onto my exhaust system. 760?? What a rip off. Seems like they failed me on purpose just to get me on overpriced repairs (which

They are expensive and do not work on fixing isssues, just replaceing part's. Very little logical deduction at the lab. Had 3 oxegen sensrs and an EGR valve all fail over the week-end. They charged, or wanted to charge in excess of $800 for this work. I ran a can of seafoam throught the engine and clened the carbon out and all the issues disaperred. This was the secound vehicle they screwed me on. NEVER AGAIN!

I needed a smog test on a 2000 Lincoln and on the way to DMV I saw this location. I had to have a smog completed and instead of coming all the way back to Ventura, I stopped here. Boy, am I glad I did!! The staff was quick, very friendly and knowledgable. Raul the owner, once the mechanic spotted a cracked hose and pointed it out, had the hose replaced at a very low price as a customer service enhancement. I would reccommend Raul's for any work as they are honest and to find a smog location and car repair business that is up front and that wants to create good will for the city of Santa Paula

Nice people. Got quoted $58 for smog check which was already cheaper than some of the Ventura locations I had called. Then they gave me an additional $10 off for no reason. Didn't notice that until I looked at the invoice in the car. The service was quick. Will be going back again for the other car to get smog checked.
