Services
DuBois Law Group, PLLC was founded with a strong sense of intention to re-think the way legal services, especially elder law, are provided. Yes, we are professionals that deal with money. But our highest and best goal is to ensure that the people, the families, are assisted through these situations in a respectful, attentive manner.
Success doesn't happen by accident. Anyone who has worked hard to provide a great life for their family and themselves knows this. Making sure that continues doesn't happen by accident either: a strategic plan is necessary. For many people that involves a structure to protect their accumulated assets from creditors, unwanted beneficiaries, and unnecessary taxes.
All too often, the need for long term care, whether it be in-home, assisted living, or a nursing home, arises before a family has adequately protected their home or savings. Worse, few people know that they still have options to protect some, if not all, of their assets, even at the last minute.
Specialized transfer techniques, based on Federal and state law, allow families to keep at least some, and sometimes most, of their assets, while still qualifying for Medicaid.Simply put, you do not need to "spend down" all your assets before receiving Medicaid coverage. The team at DuBois Law Group, PLLC are the Hudson Valley's most dedicated and focused providers of assistance in this area.

Planning proactively is the best way to ensure the best result-this rings true in so many situations, yet with estate planning, people often find a reason to put it off. At DuBois Law Group, PLLC, we strive to make the planning process relaxed, comfortable and most of all, custom tailored to each individual and family.
The grieving process is a difficult time, and managing someone else's money and assets is a daunting task by itself. Having to deal with both together can be downright overwhelming. Terms like probate, estate, executor, beneficiary, administrator, fiduciary, etc. make the process all the more confusing.

Over the past few years, I had to deal with the care for my elderly mother, I never realized how difficult it was to get through all the red tape, especially for someone who had worked professionally all her life. Dealing with Medicare, Medicaid, hospitals and the nursing homes had just become overwhelming. Fortunately, I received advise from a relative to contact a local Elder Law Attorney, Austin DuBois. The best decision I ever made, the advice given to me by Mr. DuBois not only put my mind at ease but also assured me that the decisions that had to be made about my mother were the best for her
