Established in 1983, The Prime Rib Restaurant and Wine Cellar has continued to offer a fine dining experience to patrons in Gillette, Wyoming. The Prime Rib Restaurant & Wine Cellar offers a fine but casual dining experience to patrons in Gillette, Wyoming, and surrounding areas. Founded in 1983 by Ed & Phyllis Vanscoy, The Prime Rib is currently owned and operated by Ken Barkey. Ken was the manager since 1983 and bought the restaurant from Ed & Phyllis in 1991.
From formal dinners to cocktail parties, we work with you to make certain that your needs are met in a manner that is pleasing to you. Our diverse selection of food, wine, and not to mention the beautiful atmosphere combine for the perfect conditions for your next event. We approach each and every one of our events from a quality, not quantity, point of view.

Ther service was awful otherwise would have rated higher. It was quite possibly the worst service I have ever had. Clearly the eaitress could care less about working there. That said the food was very good. The table side quacamole is a nice touch. Ordered seafood and steak dinners. Everyone raved about their meal. They make good cocktails as well.

Decent price for an amazing meal. You can go in and have a wonderful lunch for cheap or if you feel fancy buy king crab and a 20k bottle of wine. It's got everything and the staff is great.

Worst food I have ever had! Artichoke dip had barely any artichoke and tasted like melted American cheese, Caesar salad tasted like the dressing was watered down literally and my chicken came out soggy in this brown liquid soup which ordered at other better restaurants should have been a thick gravy. Even the water was bad, tasted dirty for some reason. Not worth your time or money!!

Had the prime rib sandwich and it was fantastic. Prime was super tender and on a giant Texas toast. Melted in my mouth.

Prime rib quite pricey. 3oz of it was fat. Hub cut it all off before started eating. Lg was 16oz for 36.99. Mine was excellent. Shaved prime rib, cheese, fried onion on top of, I believe, toasted garlic bread which was served with aujus.

Super nice staff and spacious seating! We went there for my parents' 32nd wedding anniversary and they surprised them with a free dessert without my brother and I having to ask. Absolutely fantastic food and drinks too! You have to try the warm apple pie drink!

Husband and I stopped for a special dinner for our anniversary and we’re really disappointed. He had to discard the steak knife they gave with the prime rib because it was too tough and had to use his pocket knife instead to cut it. We decided to try the creme brûlée and it was very disappointing as it was curdled instead of it’s normal custard like consistency. Needless to say we were very disappointed in food quality. However the serving staff was very friendly and attentive.

I don't really write bad reviews. But today I wanted to share my exprien. I went to the prime River and enjoy nice dinner before I drive back to Vegas. So I choose this place. Waited at the bar for good amount of 10 min to get the menu from bartender. As a chef and working at restaurants industry, that' 10 min was pretty long.. bartender was nice. But doesn't know the priority. I got the table less than 10 min. Server was new and she said today was her first day. I order escargot and prime ribs. Order bottle of wine. I got salad than escargot came right after. But no bread or nothing. I do not
