Trinity Christian Preschool
Our preschool program has been embraced by the members of Trinity United Methodist Church since our inception in the Fall of 2004. We have been blessed with a terrific facility, highly dedicated teachers, and an integrated curriculum. The effective combination of these components provides a developmentally appropriate and enriching preschool environment where your child will excel.

We operate under a Religious Exemption granted by the Licensing Division of the Department of Social Services and we adhere to all health and safety requirements of the VA Code. Our current capacity is 108 children, aged 2.5-5, with 19 exceptional staff members, giving us a child to teacher ratio ranging from 2:8 to 1:10.
Services
Students are required to submit a School Entrance Health Form as indicated by our Religiously Exempt Licensing Code. If you would like to give to the TCP Scholarship Fund, please contact the TCP Director at preschool@trinitypoquoson.org. The Director's office, Room 213, is located upstairs. The director is available for appointments between 9:00am and 1:00pm during regular school days.
We adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Virginia Foundation Blocks for Early Learning for Literacy and Mathematics. We focus on monthly thematic units, basic math concepts, alphabet exposure and exploration, and nursery rhymes. We are in the process of aligning our curriculum with some of the same concepts taught at Poquoson Primary School so that students will have an easy transition when entering Kindergarten.
As a graduate of George Mason University and Old Dominion University, I hold a B.A. in Biology and a Masters of Education (PreK-6th). I spent 10 years teaching in a variety of educational settings, to include preschool, Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, and Title I support (ESL/Gifted). I enjoy this position as I am able to work side by side with a wonderful staff and support them as they work with your children.
What are the student hours? What is the student-teacher ratio? How big is the school? What does my child need to enroll? Who makes up the student body? Do the children eat during the day? How is the school governed? How is the school funded? Is financial aid available? Do the children attend field trips?
