In November of 1987 the majority of trucking agencies were attached to carriers. Independent truck drivers working for these agencies would either have their own customer base to back haul or use one of the larger carriers to get ensure that after completing one delivery, they had another delivery to get them back to their location of origin.
This was a very cumbersome process for independent trucking companies, thus in 1998, under the expert leadership of Mel Hedrick, Hedrick and Associates (HA) was founded in Centreville, Virginia with the core concept of connecting the several small companies with brokerage authority to the independent carriers in order to provide better service to customers by providing the logistics backbone to the trucking industry.

We have been working with this company for about 10 years. They have always been the ultimate family oriented and family operated business. Always professional and have worked with us in every circumstance.
Starting with just Mel Hedrick and then expanding with the family and company, they have always gotten us good loads at a fair rate. We all understand in the Freight business, things can go wrong on either side, but they have always been the ultimate professionals in every way.

My company booked a load with Derrick Hedricks, I confirmed the load confirmed the closing time for shipping and receiving hrs 530pm, drove 90mi out of my way to get load I get there at 5pm call Derrick several times no answer. So the lady in shipping calls he answers they talk for a few they end the call , she proceeds to tell they have no load for me. I've tried several times after this to call Hedricks Logistics but no answer or call back. They wasted 5hrs of my time and about $100 in fuel. This company is one of the worst I've pulled for in 25yrs. I'm not mad just wanted to let people know
