Services
Opening a restaurant in Hunterdon County, among family and friends, has been a long-time dream of ours. We grew up here; we love it here. When we spotted the old bank, we fell in love with the setting. It sat vacant, but charming, on a wooded lot in Clinton Township - just minutes from home - and we immediately knew it would be our restaurant.
We've gone digital. No need to place the order; we'll visit the table to answer any questions and place it for you -- any questions, just let us know! Our frequently-changing menu is designed to showcase great, fresh ingredients. We take in daily deliveries from local bakers and farmers, shop at our local farms and frequently take in the day's catch, fresh from our local fishermen on the East coast.
Each Thursday, between 4 and 7 PM, some of our favorite, like-minded local farmers and makers will gather to share their goods with the community at our weekly outdoor Farmers' Market. Shop local produce, meats, baked goods, sweets, flowers and specialty items from some of Hunterdon's finest - shop, sip, snack and support local, all in one spot.
We're always looking for great people to join the team at Juniper Hill. If you have a passion for good food and wine, enjoy being around great people and thrive on excellence and good ol' hospitality, Juniper Hill is the place for you. At Juniper Hill, our goal is to deliver a finer dining experience in a casual setting.
Our passion for great ingredients is exceeded only by our excitement to share them. We work collaboratively with local farmers, growers, makers and fishermen to ensure we are serving interesting and diverse seeds and breeds, raised cleanly, handled responsibly and harvested at their peak. Thanks to their hard work and like-minded ways, we are able to deliver food you can feel good about eating and know is prepared with love.

Nothing bad to say about this place! Date night with the husband & it was amazing. The salmon was ridiculously flavorful. We ordered the potato appetizer. I wanted roll around in the ramekin that contained an amazing sauce for the potatoes. My husband had the squid ink pasta & basically licked his plate clean. We will be going back.

Food is fantastic, highlights are ricotta and kennebec potatoes. Every bartender knows what the heck they're doing and makes great cocktails. Service however can be hit or miss - the hostess was a bit lost when we asked to be moved a table to the left and our food occasionally come without the expected sauces. Also I really wish they brought back paper menus. At this point it seems like they're just skimping out on printing costs under the guise of safety.

I wanted to love this place since it's close to home. I've had a few great experiences and some not so good experiences. The appetizers are great. I no longer drink but when I did, the drinks were very good. I and others have had not very good experiences with the bartender who I understand is now the bar manager. He is not very friendly and seems to be arrogant. Last time I visited I sat on the patio, had a wonderful waitress, and a great meal. Loved everything about it. I'd avoid dealing with the bartender/bar manager though to ensure I have a good experience.

Food is fine. Service lacking. Made a reservation for two for me and my wife. They sat us down on a bench -style setup with the tables literally a foot apart from each other in between two other parties. If I wanted to have dinner with two other couples, I would have invited friends. I wasn't really going for the speed-dating vibe. We asked to move to another table and were told they couldn't accommodate us. When you charge $26 for a piece of chicken, I think you can afford to space the tables out a bit and give your guests a modicum of privacy. Won't be going back.

When I came in I thought it was a beautiful restaurant UNTIL I tried to order tacos to see if they have beef and the said they could only make one of us tacos not the other. Then we ordered the burger and the side salad is only leaves nothing else. The fries had to much seasoning. i was never asked if i wanted another drink or how we were doing. Our waitress sat in the back talking to her coworkers. I’m really disappointed and won’t be coming back.

We were visiting the area for my birthday and stopped in on a Saturday night for a quick drink and a bite. The place was crowded so we preferred to eat outside and asked for a patio seat. Everyone was friendly and our server was super sweet despite having to schlep outside to serve us (the only ones on the patio). We split the white pizza and it was sooo delicious.

I've been coming to Juniper Hill since they opened. The consistency and quality are always top-notch. I love their menu from the top down. I'm always surprised by their creativity and a nod to traditional. The cocktails are also fantastic.
We always liked sitting in the bar area, however since we have a toddler and have been cautious with indoor dining, we have been doing curbside ordering a lot. Somehow the chef is able to make that experience feel special, which often times you don't get.

We are looking into moving to this area from the city and we wanted to see if we could find restaurants that we would like around here. I actually spent a decent amount of time checking menus and reviews of the restaurants in this general area and Juniper Hill topped my list based on the menu alone.
When we first pulled up to the parking lot I actually almost turned around and went somewhere else. From the outside this place looked like the type of restaurant old people go to for the early bird special. The building also was shaped like a bank, but we later realized that's part of what makes

We were recommended this place for our 10th anniversary dinner date and boy, we were happy we went there! Lovely dine out place. Perfect ambience. Very friendly staff. Decent number of choices for me but would have been better if my vegetarian hubby had more Mains choices.
Top favorite dish was the Blackened berkshire pork cheek bowl - very unique and the meat was so tender. It almost felt like an entree. We also loved the chickpea pancake with roasted organic heirloom carrots - reminded us of our south indian dish called Adai with Avial.
For mains, hubby didn't want much carb and so ordered

Looking for a nice restaurant in this area was definitely not the easiest, but we received much more than a nice restaurant at Juniper Hill! It was our first time here, and upon arriving there was a small farmers market outside of the restaurant which gave it a local feel. This is definitely the type of place you can dress up or down, it is casual yet slightly upscale. Our server, Grace, was absolutely fantastic and made great recommendations for us. We shared a margherita pizza with sausage, and for entrees we had the fish tacos and the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious

I love it here! I came here for father's day this year, and took my dad and family to this place, he was very happy! Our table was in the vault, it felt like we were VIP! LOL!! But anyways, about the food and service. Food was outstanding! I had the octopus and the ny steak, both were fire. My favorite meal here is the octopus! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR GOOD REASONS, ITS GOOD FOOD!!! :)

Marinne was absolutely fabulous as our waitress tonight at Juniper Hill. Not only was she on top of her game but she was very well informed on the menu and the selections from the Vault.
We started with the Blue Fin Tuna, Grilled Octopus, and J. Hill pizza. The pizza was a highlight and decadent in every way. Crisped to perfection.
For my main, I selected the Amish chicken. It was succulent over a kale/quinoa spread and cucumber tomato salad in an herb dill base. It was a great choice and very hearty.
For cocktails, we entertained the Spicy Margarita and Cucumber Gin Spritz. Reasonably priced

Above average overall.
1) ambience: nicely done. We sat in the patio on a nice sunny spring afternoon and it was great with tables well spaced out from one another. Cannot say anything about the inside.
2) service: was average. Nothing negative but nothing to write home about. Hostess and server were pleasant but not special or attentive enough even though I put a note on the reservation that this was a special occasion dinner.
3) food: well above average. The octopus was outstanding, the local Sunken Silo draft beer was excellent, the half chicken and pizza were well presented and tasted great

I went to the plants on plates event last night at juniper hill and was so happy to experience a four course meal that was completely plant based. The food tastes so clean and divine and the atmosphere of this restaurant has a trendy vibe. If you go to juniper hill, please please please get the coconut banana chocolate ice cream oh my goodness it is so insane !!! It is vegan also!

For a Tuesday night in January, during a pandemic... this place was hopping! And with good reason. I had the slow cooked heritage pork shoulder- which made my tummy happy! A generous serving of fork tender pork served with a sauce reminiscent of a sweeter Bolognese hit the spot. Beautiful presentation. For dessert, although full, I couldn't pass up trying the chamomile panna cotta, thinking my husband and son would share with me- nope they were full so I had that wonderful dessert to myself. Husband and I agree... we will be back.
My husband had the rigatoni pasta- piled high with sausage

If we had to describe this restaurant in one word it would be wonderful! This was our first time visiting, our waiter Hunter was excellent. His recommendations were top-notch. And he was so attentive to us! The food was unbelievably fresh and made from scratch. We definitely look forward to going back. The salmon and halibut we're cooked just right with seasonings blended together by a skillful chef! The restaurants vibe was cool and trendy. I was very impressed with the cleanliness! Very clean and bright. Excellent!

My company recently hosted a volunteering event at America's Grow a Row farm.
Afterwards, we came to Juniper Hill for a private lunch.
The place was adorable and simply PERFECT for our lunch!!
The bar area was amaZing and cute! The variety of draft beers and alcoholic beverages included were impressive. The staff was friendly, well versed on the menu, ingredients and preparation. They were hands down pretty awesome!
The colors, decor, seating and ambience was exactly what we needed after a rigorous morning of being outdoors and strenuously salvaging fruits and vegetables at the farm.

Very creative chef; interesting combinations of flavors I haven't seen anywhere else. I appreciate the vegan and vegetarian options. I love the chef's liberal and skilled use of fresh herbs.
I loved the free onion-potato bread served with humus.
I highly recommend the strawberries & sprouts starter with ricotta cheese; I believe this was listed on the menu under salads but there are no greens. Either the ricotta cheese, the dressing or both were sweet. The strawberries were sweet too.
