Routine eye exams are important in maintaining the health and optimal function of your eyes. Many people believe that if they are not experiencing vision problems, than they do not need eye exams.
Dr. Sokonviset Uong was raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended University of Alabama where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctorate Degree in Optometry from the prestigious Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2001. Dr. Uong was awarded America's Top Optometrist in 2002-2003 by Consumer's Research Council of America.
To reduce eye strain and fatigue, we carry specialized computer lenses. These lenses are perfect for computer users who spend a majority of their day working on a computer. And since three out of four computer users will suffer from Computer Vision Syndrome, computer lenses are a great way to keep your eyesight healthy.
This will save you time and speed up the process. If you are currently wearing glasses, contacts, and/or sunglasses, be sure to bring them with you for your Comprehensive Eye Exam visit. All new patients are recommended for dilation during the exam. In the case that you do get dilated, your eyes will be sensitive to bright light for the first 2-3 hours following your visit.
Insurance and billing can be confusing and we want to help minimize any problems you may experience regarding payment from your insurance company for our services. Since hundreds of insurance companies offer vision benefits, we realize the importance of informing you of our policies regarding insurance filing.

I have been to many eye doctors over the years and I must say that Dr. Uong is the best I have ever been treated by. Not only is he extremely professional, but he is kind and thorough. In addition, his office staff is among the friendliest and so very helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Uong and his office for eye care.

The doctor was great and most of the staff was great. However, the older woman who was fitting my husband for glasses kept pestering him about whether or not we had gotten our Covid-19 vaccine and was very adamant that we get them. She kept diverting the conversation back to it. We just wanted to buy a pair of glasses! It was very inappropriate and made us uncomfortable. How is that anyone's business? Especially when we are customers. I will not return specifically because of that.

My wife and I had Uong Eye Care recommended to us by our insurance as we just had a bad experience with another vendor in our network. Our first impression was great as we saw the care they extended to other clients as we waited, with attention to detail and customer service double checking everything for the clients making sure of fit and understanding (especially for a teenagers first glasses).

Very rude. We never got to see the doctor, but I brought my daughter for her appointment and the door was locked. Eventually the girl came to open it and when I pulled on the door she was angry. Then she took my daughter's temperature and said she had a temperature and we couldn't come in. I have taken her temp repeatedly and she doesn't have one. I will not be back.
