The Mapes Hotel offers Queen and King Bed Suites that trump an ordinary hotel room for extra leg room and authentic historic atmosphere. The Queen and King Suites with sleep sofas are reminiscent of apartment-style living. All of the Mapes Hotel suites have a contemporary layout enhanced by architectural details from the the mid 1800s.

Nice rooms with a full kitchen, wifi, cable, everything one would expect from a nice hotel. The one thing you won't find is a front desk. Check in is done via emailed code and a lock box. Convenient for many, difficult for some.
I found it to be a great place to stay. Walking distance from much of the Ripon fun, very affordable and a great night of sleep.

I really wanted this place to be perfect. I think it might be the best hotel in Ripon. It is aesthetically pleasing with nice woodwork. I liked the check-in process where you enter a code into a lockbox and your key is inside. I should compare (have not yet) my code for the same room 3 months apart to confirm the code changes. They were very helpful in advance of my visit as I called to ask for a room change (I was on crutches and there is no elevator). The hotel was completely booked but they worked with another guest to help me. The doors to the room are very heavy if you are on crutches but

The Gorgeous Blonde and I needed a place to stay while visiting Green Lake, and we looked online. There were not many options, but instinct said try this one, Mapes...trust your instincts!
Helpful phone operator placed my reservation when the online version did not confirm my request. Arrival was smooth, place is extremely clean and comfortable. Well appointed rooms and soft, clean towels. Big new TV in each room, as our room had a bed room AND a living room with pull out couch and recliner. All for $120.
Check out smoothly and they mailed the clothing article we accidentally left behind

I had the privilege of seeing the Mapes Hotel during its renovation and all I can say is WOW! It's stunning. Every detail here is well thought out. The rooms and amenities make you immediately feel at home. And once you step out the front door you are right in the middle of charming Downtown Ripon. Thumbs up!

We called at the last minute and took the last room available. It was beautiful even though the view wasn’t the best, the furnishings and decor made up for it! The shops were within walking distance and everyone was so friendly! It was a great place to spend our anniversary. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and we will be back.

"This is the historic & quaint boutique hotel you have always wanted to stay in. From the moment we walked in the door to a warm welcome, we were pleasantly surprised around every corner. The kitchenette is elegantly designed, complete with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The bedroom boasts a beautiful and comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was crisp, clean and the spacious, tile walk in shower was a treat.
With the downtown atmosphere of shopping, restaurants, microbrew and coffee shop within 1-2 blocks, you leave wishing you could stay longer!
