Contested divorces involve one or more issues that are unresolved between the parties. Most Kentucky divorces fall within this definition. Although mediation or informal negotiations can often resolve such outstanding issues, a divorce trial is sometimes necessary to adequately protect your interests.
Uncontested divorces are those in which the parties are in agreement on every potential issue, ranging from division of marital property to the calculation of child support. These divorces are preferable to contested divorces, in that they involve far less time, cost, and conflict between the parties.

I used Stotts Law in my recent divorce. I found them to be very professional and efficient. They are comforting yet direct. In a time that can be difficult and trying they were easy to get along with and did things in a very timely manner. If you are in need a family court attorney, Adam Stotts is literally the absolute best. I cannot recommend him enough. I lived in a severely abusive marriage for 7 years and left to protect myself and my children. My divorce was drawn out for nearly two years, I never received child support AND he was granted unsupervised visitation at first. My 4 year old came back badly injured from the one visit he went on. I switched my legal representation to Adam after the incident with my son being returned to me in that condition and he literally turned my case around completely in a matter of just two
