The name "Polaris" refers to the star commonly known as the "North Star" or the "Pole Star". For centuries, it has been used as a vital navigation tool for travelers on both land and sea. Polaris never changes its position in the sky; it is a symbol of stability, reliability, honesty, and commitment.
Each spring, students perform for the public at a professional theater with lighting, music, and costumes. Our recitals are an exhilarating experience for our dancers, teachers, families, and audience members. In January, our teachers begin putting together choreographed dances for their classes.
They work hard every week to create and perfect a challenging and fun piece for the students; something the students can feel proud to present to their friends, families, and community.Students are expected to maintain good attendance in order to have the proper amount of quality rehearsal time with the full cast of each of their dances.

April has been involved in athletics since she was a young child and discovered yoga as a teenager. Yoga served as both a segue into "fitness, " and as a therapy which helped her recover from years of competitive gymnastics. She began teaching yoga in 2002 as she worked on the requirements for her teacher certification.
Katie Brown is currently a professional cheerleader in the NFL, and has been with her current team for two seasons. She began her dance career in a local studio where she studied several styles of ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and pointe. In high school, she attended Governor's School for the Arts where she performed as a soloist in full-length ballet and modern productions, and took master classes from groups such as Alvin Ailey.

I have 2 girls in hip hop and they love it. The only reason for 3 stars is because it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone at the phone number listed, even when my girls are in class and all the staff are there. Very frustrating.

My daughter started dancing here when they first opened. At first it was a great welcoming atmosphere... then the dance drama started. It was no longer a positive space for my daughter. The teachers the first few years were great then they went downhill but parents were still paying high dollar prices for lower quality teachers. Maybe things are better now but it ended up as a terrible experience for my daughter.

We love Polaris! We started with a one hour a week ballet/tap last year, and this year we auditioned and made it onto the company. We love all of her teachers, and all of the families that also dance at Polaris. If you are looking for a friendly fun place to dance, you can’t go wrong with Polaris!

From the moment my daughter walked into the open house at the Grand Opening, she knew this studio would be her new dance home. The staff, teachers, and fellow dance families are superb! The owner cares about each and every student and it shows. Polaris is truly the studio for a quality dance education. I am so glad we made Polaris Dance Institute our new dance home nearly four years ago.

My only complaint is if your child is not part of the company, the communication is lacking. This was our first year doing dance and I cannot say enough about Kate the lyrical instructor. What a treasure this young woman has been for my daughter. The entire staff and all of the families we have encountered have been so loving and supportive, it is a beautiful dance family. It's just that there weren't many emails about the details of recital pickups and attire and how-tos that myself and a few other moms I ran into along the way agreed with. But honestly, it's a minor annoyance.

Sad to say - poor management. While the teachers are great, management is poor with little to no proficiency. I called AND I emailed to cancel my daughter's class- because we couldn't keep the same schedule with our work.
I was charged for another month the very next day. "Jo" emailed me that they would not refund because policy states to give 30 day notice- but charge me the day AFTER I tell you we need to cancel.

This is an OK dance studio when my daughter went. Most classes the students "teach other" and work on the same dance techniques. The focus is on the travel dance team which is why you will pay an absurd amount for rehearsal wear: $75 for a hoodie that you get right before and use twice. Costumes are cheap material bought at a low price so there is a lot $$ leftover. For this reason we stopped but be warned- the owner will hold it against you and avoid you at all costs. We have been trying to get a refund since Dec 2017! Mind you we had to pay "in advance" about four months.

We have been a part of this studio since the beginning... and it is amazing. The facility it top notch. Large studios with plenty of space and high quality floors and mirrors. More than the amazing facility, the instructors are the best. High quality, professional instructors that truly care about the students.

I have two young girls who are thriving at Polaris Dance Institute! Their range of teachers in so many different styles allows my girls to become versatile in each genre as well as learn how to adjust to different teaching styles. The galaxy theme has allowed the studio to attract male and female dancers. This studio will have a great future!
