Parsons Funeral Home
Our facility was completed in 1932 by T.B. Grubb after moving from its mainstreet location. At this time it was known as Grubb Funeral Home. In 1961, the business was purchased from the Grubb estate by Dan and Lil Urbanek. The funeral home has been in the Parsons family since 1971 when it was bought by Phil and Charlotte Parsons.

It then became known as Grubb-Parsons Funeral Home. Mark and Lisa Parsons, bought the business from Phil and Charlotte in 1993 at which time the name was changed to Parsons Funeral Home. Current owners, Ryan and Tiffany Parsons, purchased the business from Mark and Lisa in 2015. The Parsons family is proud to have served Ellsworth and the surrounding communities since 1971.
Services
At Parson Funeral Home, we take great pride in caring for our families, and will work tirelessly to provide you with a beautiful, lasting tribute to your loved one. In addition to the services we offer, you will receive an online memorial that you can share with family and friends. While honoring your loved one is our top priority, we also want to help you through this difficult time.
Marland was a lifetime resident of Ellsworth County where he was a truck foreman for the County Highway Department. On his days off, he would work at Homolka Grain & Supply. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Ellsworth American Legion Post 174. Marland married Lenore Kay Foos.
We offer an endless selection of granites, colors, shapes and sizes that can all be carved and/or photo etched to create a custom stone that fits your needs. Because of this large array of choices, pricing is best dealt with during an appointment at which we can find out your monument needs, select the proper stone and produce a quote.
Preplanning allows people to make decisions about their own, or a loved one's, final funeral arrangements before the need arises. Our staff can sit down with you and record all the vital information needed to complete paperwork and obituaries. Pallbearers, musicians, and clergy can be named, songs and scriptures noted and merchandise (casket, outer burial container, urn, urn vault, etc) selected.
Meaningful memorialization of a loved one's passing can transform, heal, and comfort us. It highlights our loved ones' sacrifices, reminds us of the things that they value, and inspires us with their life stories. Have the Talk of a Lifetime, a program created by The Funeral and Memorial Information Council, was designed to help families have meaningful conversations about the things that matter most in their lives.
