Kern & Co. is fantastic! The selection is not only plentiful, but is of great quality. They truly go above & beyond in helping you with design, procuring furniture as well as thinking of all the details. In fact, there are things that I wouldn’t have selected on my own that I am so pleased I did. They sort of pushed me a little outside of my comfort zone, which is a sure sign of a great designer, and I have some incredible pieces in my home to show for it. After working with Carol over a course of 5 months to revitalize my home, I finally have a home I am excited to live in. The entire process was easy and flawless. She addressed every one of my concerns and kept me in the loop with everything. What a pleasure it was to work with Susan Spath of Kern & Co. in Solana Beach during the recent remodel of my La Jolla Condo. Susan guided me through the selections floor to ceiling; She helped me decide the paint color, type of flooring and bathroom tile giving me confidence in my choices and adding beauty and value. The design advice and help Susan offers is priceless when there are so many major decisions to be made. With so much furniture in the store I was able to have many pieces delivered right away. Kern & Co. went over and beyond to assist me.

Moving here from Europe and no contacts we luckily stumbled upon Susan Spath of Kern and Company.
Not only did she navigate us through every aspect, she facilitated building our home while we were still transiting from Europe to San Diego.
We arrived to our new home with every bed made, cupboards fully stocked, and all necessities thought of.
The first thing our children did was jump in the pool.

Shopping around for furniture can be extremely stressful and time consuming, but Susan Spath at her Kern and Co store made it a breeze! The staff was knowledgeable and genuine, and I can't emphasize enough how talented she was when putting together the design for my new living and dining room. I'd highly recommend for any interior design/furniture needs.

As an investor who needs to turn a timely profit on high end residential investments, there is no one else I would use.
Everyone I know uses Kern and Co. in my circles. We all know we can count on her to meet our needs with an amazing creative edge, on time and under budget.

I have a few problems with this store:
1) It just isn't up to par with the other stores in the area.
2) The staff are rude and don't have answers to questions about existing products.
3) The selection within the store just does not have a coherent feel to it.
4) It's been fairly easy for me to price match several items at stores with better staff.

I had a total "Pretty Woman" shopping experience here the other day. This is a very pricey furniture store. I can afford it but I don't always dress like it. I'd had a busy day making several stops and was dressed for comfort. We just bought a new house in the area and I'd never been inside this store and wanted to check it out. It's beautiful and I was in love but the sales lady was so rude I'm not sure I'll be back. I opened a door hoping it was a restroom and explained I wanted to wash my hands before touching any of the upholstery. The sales lady just
