Nonna Nina has been running Cafe San Francisco for 3 whole generations. From having her daughter, Maria, her granddaughter, Vittoria and her grandson, Lorenzo as handy helpers, she is still cooking up the best pasta in Chicago "in the back." We use fresh ingredients in our homemade recipes, welcoming your family to our family.

Located on Harlem Ave, Little Italy, we are one of the last authentic italian restaurants standing and continue to uphold our heritage through each meal we serve. The Last of its kind. If you want a good latte this is not the place. Ordered lattes. Expectations weren’t high after walking in but wanted to give it a try. The taste was like packets of sugar on your tongue and it didn’t have that crafted latte taste. I was ready to pay with a card and she then tells me that it’s cash only. My boyfriend had to drive to an atm while I waited there. Overall not a great experience.

Is there a secret code or something? Went there on a Friday night at 7pm and the door was locked. With the signs on. A lady came and opened the door. We asked if they were closed and she said, no. Come in. When we got inside, she then asked if she could help us. She seemed to be confused as to why we were there. We asked for menus and she brought them to us. The kitchen was completely dark btw. She then told us that she was cash only. That was our perfect out. We’ve never left a place so fast!

Came in to share a chicken parmesan sandwich with a friend but oh my Lord!
That sandwich was too amazing!!!
Had to get another 2!!!
This place is authentic and cooks everything from scratch.

I love this cafe and I love even more the owner, a wonderful woman that reminds your grandma ( if you have an italian grandma!) Best espresso in Chicago, real espresso even better than many Italian cafes in Italy!
The atmosphere is nice and cozy!

It was a nice experience. Service a little slow, but excellent. Ice cold beer and great pizza. It was like going to grandma's house and been served by her. I would visit again!
