We understand that things are probably tough for you right now. But, here you are because you realized that you should know more about work injuries and how workers' comp can help. It's a step in the right direction. Injuries are made worse when you have to deal with your employer or their insurance company who seems to understand all of this so well and assures you to just trust them.
Then you think, Is what they are telling me true? Am I getting treated fairly or not? Am I being taken advantage of? Those are hard questions to answer if you've never been through this before. Prior to the injury, you probably didn't care that you knew so little about Workers Comp, but now that you are dealing with an injury, that lack of knowledge becomes scary.

Although workers' compensation is supposed to balance the interests of injured workers and employers, it seems like injured workers often get the short end of the stick. I cannot tell you how many times people have contacted me because they are frustrated with the delays that they encounter trying to get the treatment and compensation that they should after an injury at work.
Workers' Compensation covers on the job injuries that prevent a worker from doing the job they were hired to do. Some of the most common injuries are back, neck, shoulder and knee injuries. Although these conditions may be the result of an accident, many injuries are the result of repetitive motion, lifting, stooping, bending and other wear and tear on the body from working.
Even if you think your injury is minor, you need to make sure that you understand and protect your rights to medical treatment and weekly benefits. Many times, what seems like a minor injury can become a much more serious one. It is important to know your rights because the workers' compensation laws in Georgia can be confusing and complicated.
Workers' compensation probably covers you if you get hurt at work. But some insurance companies deny workers' compensation claims even when an injury happens at work while you are doing your job. Like any part of the law, there are some confusing technicalities. Georgia law requires an insurance company to pay workers' compensation benefits when an employee suffers an injury by accident arising out of and in the course of employment.
If you are injured on the job, workers' compensation can help you recover but you need to follow a process. Not understanding this process often causes people to lose benefits they should receive. The first things you need to do is make sure to report your injury to employer as soon as possible. Prompt notification should allow the insurance company to begin your benefits in a timely manner.

I am a Veteran of United States Air Force and was awarded my first 30% in 1996 and have been fighting for my rating for 26 years I came to Perkins and Studdard in 2019 while my mom was in a terrible incident and was given to much anesthesia and through GODS Grace she was spared her life, She is disabled since 2018 and I have been struggling with my life and issues and yet I didn’t call the law firm every 10 minutes or call being rude anytime, I mentioned this as I got to know Jessica more than just a phone call and Mr Studdard was always available when not working on other cases or in court,

I had continually been denied and was pending a judicial review when I came across this law firm. I reached out for assistance in making sure I had the best possible outcome with the VA judge and during the period of wait, all questions were answered in a timely manner and all prep needed was completed before the day. The outcome was better than we expected with a decision being made on the day of the hearing. Jessica, Travis and the whole staff were always reassurring and professional. If I ever need assistance in the future I will definitely reach out to them!

The staff was very friendly and answered any questions I had. I was denied one time for my 100% claim before I called them. In just a year Travis and his team won my claim. I would suggest anyone seeking a rating increase to give them a call.

I have nothing but kind words for my experience with this establishment. Travis , Jessica and Melissa are always professional, courteous, and knowledgeable when addressing me. They managed to make my experience during my claims process very easy. They did it by adding something, and that is clarity. I will not hesitate to recommend them. If you are reading this trying to decide as I were not very long ago, call them. I did and am very much better for having done it.

This was my first time dealing with Workers Comp. I found out quick that they are not in the business of helping injured workers get the care they need to return back to work they are in the business of blocking you from getting the care you need in order to save the company they represent as much money as possible. That's why choosing the right attorney is so important my experience with Perkins Studdard was Great. You get one shot at picking a good attorney that's why it's important to pick a team with a proven track record.

I had almost given up on getting my sleep apnea covered by the VA after going through the veteran's service organization process to no avail. I knew however that I had a claim that should be covered. Luckily I stumbled across an article that Mr. Studdard had written and decided to give his office a call. From the first second his team was attentive and informative and that carried forward through my process. Mr. Studdard was able to look at my claim and figure out the small details that had been missed in my previous claims and made a corrected appeal. The appeal was granted at the regional

I am a veteran of the war in Iraq. I have been fighting for my VA compensation for injuries sustained while in service for over 6 years. I have been to four different Veteran Service Organizations (VSO's). Some helped a little, some did nothing and some actually hampered my ability to receive my entitled compensation.
After years of frustration and financial struggle I decided to try and file my claim again. I read about the VA and their legion of lawyers fighting to keep veterans from getting what they are entitled to and I decided to fight fire with fire.
I contacted Perkins Studdard

After being fed up with the VA claims process, I did extensive research and found attorney. Words cannot express the level of expertise, knowledge and ability that Travis Studdard possesses.
The intake process was very lengthy and thorough (which told me these were the right folks for the job). We took our time, gathered all the relevant evidence, statements etc... and submitted my claim January 1, 2017.
My QTC exams were in the beginning of March and by the end of that same month I had my decision rendered. The VA found in our favor, in every aspect we filed for, increasing my rating to 100
