In simplest terms, a subluxation a.k.a. Vertebral Subluxation) is when one or more of the bones of your spine (vertebrae) move out of position and create pressure on, or irritate spinal nerves. Spinal nerves are the nerves that come out from between each of the bones in your spine. This pressure or irritation on the nerves then causes those nerves to malfunction and interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves.
This is a representation of one type of subluxation. A subluxation, as defined by the Association of Chiropractic Colleges is: "A subluxation is a complex of functional and/or structural and/or pathological articular changes that compromise neural integrity and may influence organ system function and general health."
Below are some of the foremost experts in chiropractic who have taken the time to answer some of the more common questions. Author: Dr. Dean DePice Description: Dr. DePice explains that chiropractic does more than just help relieve symptoms. Chiropractic helps in the overall function of the body, which has far reaching benefits.
Chiropractors do not claim to treat infectious diseases. What chiropractic does is allow your body to function free of nerve system interference and closer to your full potential. Understanding the spread of infectious disease and how best to defend yourself can lessen the fear as well as your chances of being impacted by infectious pathogens.

High praise for Dr. Callaway, his approach to healing is multifaceted and effective. I've been to a lot of chiropractor's, natripathic practitioner's, energy workers and more. I've never experienced such quick and responsive healing on so many levels. He came highly recommended by a friend when I was experiencing poor health. I quickly regained my health but amazingly my chronic back pain is gone as well as general aches and pains. I find day after day not reaching for ibuprofen. In addition I have experienced an energy shift like

I had chronic and severe neck and arm pain. My MRI showed cervical stenosis, bone spurs, and some atrophy. I had had one Epidural with minimal success and was looking at another one + possible surgery. A friend suggested I give Dr. Callaway a try and said he had a special "gift". Indeed he does as after ONE visit my pain was 99% gone! I have continued to see him and he has helped me with numerous other issues including hormone imbalance, plantar fasciitis etc.. He is the best chiropractor I have EVER been to and over the years I have seen quite a few. I highly recommend him.

After a short fall down stairs, I gradually developed a frozen shoulder, losing range of movement, ability to reach in certain directions, modifying my way of doing things, and eventually could no longer even pull my shirt off over my head. I saw Dr. Dale who gave me chiropractic adjustments and homework of range of motion exercises to do between visits with him. I also added daily yoga. After nearly a year of visits with Dr. Dale and my own physical therapy, I was back up to 100% again. What a relief! I love the way Dr. Dale explained what was going on with my bones & his treatment. He is very

I went to Dr. Callaway for help with some back issues I was having. After some adjustments and nutritional support, I'm much better and have seen an immense increase in energy and overall health. He's even helped with other issues I thought I would just have to live with, like an old wrist injury. Thanks, Dr. Callway! :)

I've been going to Dr. Dale for 10 months and had pretty severe hip pain (stemming from my back). Dr. Dale has been adjusting my back and hip, along with getting me on some natural supplements that have helped my pain tremendously. The pain is almost gone now and I'm feeling so much better since I started with him. I continue to go once a month for maintenance. He's very approachable and knowledgeable about how the body works.

Dr. Callaway is not only my colleague, he is my chiropractor. Yes, chiropractors needs chiropractors too. Dr. Callaway took care of me while we were in school and years later I still choose him. He truly cares about his patients and is willing to address all areas of their health, including nutrition. He is one of the best in extremity adjusting. I hurt my shoulder so bad that I could barely move. It took over my day, my sleep, my life. It was hard to function with the pain and limited mobility. After 6 adjustments, therapy, and proper nutrition my shoulder was 98% better. He continues to address

I have been in Chiropractic Care since I was a three year old. My family and I have always seen and valued the health effects of a good Chiropractor. Many times I had to go out and scout for a new Chiropractor because, of relocations, insurance concerns, needing to find a better one, etc. In all my years I have only met one other Chiropractor like Dr. Dale Calloway.
Dr. Dale is versed in so many modalities, that any ailment or injury can be almost guaranteed to be "fixed". He accurately says that he "restores structure and function to the body thus relieving the pain symptoms associated with the

After having some heart blockage a few years ago, I wanted to change my diet and lifestyle in order to build up my immune system to where I could depend more on my body to heal itself as opposed to taking more drugs. I was looking for someone who could help me with nutrition to make sure that I was eating right and taking the right vitamins and supplements to reach my goal of being as healthy as possible.
I met Dr Caldwell and after getting to know him started going to him a little over a year ago. I have been very pleased at the results I have gotten from him. If you are looking for someone who

Dr. Callaway was enormously helpful when I went to see him for neck pain. Not only did he help with my physical symptoms, but he targeted some underlying causes that were contributing to physiological and emotional symptoms as well. He has a calm, confident presence, and is very knowledgeable about the body systems. I would recommend him without hesitation.

Dr. Callaway is such a good chiropractor. He really listens and responds to my issues. I went in with shoulder and neck pain that radiated down my left arm and made it hard to sleep, and in only 2 visits I am pain free! I have rarely found a doctor so attentive to my needs and so dedicated to my wellness. Thank you Dr. Callaway! Thank you.
