Kristyn is simply AMAZING to work with. She is incredibly talented with a special gift of capturing emotions, moments and the everyday happenings of our family. When working with Kristyn, we don't ever feel like we're actually having a "photo shoot" or feel any pressure to appear perfect or " nail" the right pose or look, which is huge!
I've always wanted to have a space where creatives and entrepreneurs could gather - creative women especially - and make art. I wanted to create a space where I could work and shoot (everything from products to people), a space that I could open up to my local community and fellow creators too. I wanted it to be easy to work in, warm and inviting and accessible to all - with good natural light and a little bit of quirk too.
Family is like gravity. The push and pull of joy and chaos, like some crazy magic force you can't help but feel in your insides. It's never just what we expect it to be - each day some new lesson from our children, some new discovery about what it means to be a parent, and it's always, always changing.
Maybe you're here because you are terrified of failing. Or because you've forgotten what it feels like to come alive in your work. Or because you know in your bones that you are meant to do that thing for your art and your heart and your life, and you have no idea how to get from here to there. What would it take for you to believe it was all possible, and that you are capable of creating that future?
Even when we don't see it, our lives are rich with the great fullness of our humanity. The practice of noticing, of appreciating, of attuning ourselves to the great bounty of our experience teaches us just how much there is to see and feel in any moment. I first launched The Documented Heart as a year-long mentorship project, exploring the connections between our lives and our art through an evolving daily creative practice.

We did an in-home season with Kristyn, who is incredibly warm and has a magical energy. Our time together felt like spending the morning with an old friend- we played inside and outside, had a snack, and did the usual toddler things in between- diaper changes, putting on boots "all by self!" Kristyn is a mama and was clearly familiar with all of these exchanges. What was profound was how she saw and documented these little, everyday moments for us. There have been so many times when I've been doing something routine like reading my daughter a book or changing a diaper or feeding

I cannot say enough good things about Kristyn! She photographed our small wedding in Sept 2021 with zero fuss, only clear communication and total focus. Kristyn was by far the best decision we made for our wedding. She was able to capture not only the big moments but the small intimate ones as well. From the blooming flowers on the trees in our yard to the sun peaking through the trees, when we look back at our photos we can relive the environment and details that made our day so special. We’ll be forever grateful for her warm demeanor that put us at ease and her eye for framing beautiful moments we will cherish forever.

Kristyn was absolutely amazing to work with and we can't recommend her enough! When we first started looking for a photographer for our wedding, we thought we would have a hard time picking one. However, the moment we found Kristyn, we knew we had to hire her. Her ability to truthfully capture moments and tell stories through photos is really incredible. I cannot recommend Kristyn enough!! I'm always nervous having pictures taken because we've had not so decent ones taken in the past. The minute Kristyn walked in the door, I breathed a sigh of relief. She made us feel so comfortable and won my toddler over who was talking about her for days later! I loved every single picture she took of our new family of 4. We looked exactly like ourselves, and I couldn't have been happier. Because of that, I'm having such a hard time deciding which photos to print to hang in our home! If you're thinking of hiring Kristyn, just do it! You won't regret it.

Kristyn did such an amazing job with my wedding and engagement photos! She is so genuine and made my husband and me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. Our engagement session turned out to be very cold/windy and our wedding was in December so also very cold and rainy. Kristyn managed to make the most out of these sub-optimal weather conditions and left us with a lifetime of amazing photos that we'll cherish forever. I would highly recommend using Kristyn!!

Kristyn is THE BEST. She has taken our family photos twice now, once in-studio and once outside at a park, and both experiences could not have been any better or more fun! She is such a talented photographer, so kind, and provides a super relaxing, no-pressure environment. Our second session was during Covid-19 and we felt very safe with her - she wore her mask the whole time and checked in about our comfortability. For as long as we're in CT, I can't imagine seeing anyone else but Kristyn!!

Working with Kristyn was such a pleasure. She is responsive, timely and truly cares about capturing your family in a way that is meaningful to you. Kristyn reaches out before your session to try and get to know you better and understand your goals. I this found quite refreshing, as well as helpful in making us more reflective on where our family is today.

Kristyn is an amazing person and photographer. She has a magnetic warmth to her and she captures the same magic in her photos. We were both uncomfortable with having our photos taken before to our engagement shoot. Kristyn took us out of heads and had us telling our love story and goofing around with our lovely labrador. On our wedding day we barely noticed that she was there capturing the day. She has an amazing eye for the small, meaningful moments. Our favorite part of working with her is her wonderful personality and the wonderful way she captures light. We are SO happy we chose her to capture

Our photo session with Kristyn was so much fun. We headed out onto a walking trail in the woods, and spend the morning chatting, laughing, snuggling, and being a family. The photos that she captured are so beautiful. We've been delighted to share them with family and friends, and they beautifully capture our family together out in the wild. I remember going for family photos in a stuffy studio setting, and this could not be further from that experience! Kristyn put us at ease, with simple instructions, requests and suggestions along the way, and our session really just felt like a fun walk through
